RIP Lisa! Lisa had a post a while back about everything going so well for her. Of course I informed her it would never last, wish I hadn't said that now, even in jest. Things sure have a way to come back and haunt you. I used pay-pal for an e-bay purchase the other night and on checkout they asked for a donation of a buck for breast cancer research. I checked the box, thankfully. Best dollar I've ever spent.

syncroid 10-26-2011 06:18 PM

Our local Safeway store gives the option to donate for various causes when you check out. Breast cancer being one of them. I give as often as I can. Cancer is a vicious desease. I remember when Hughs wife did the walk for breast cancer a couple years back. (She is a breast cancer survivor) :) Our family helped sponser her.

slodave 10-26-2011 06:25 PM

My mom had breast cancer over 20 years ago, survived and now is living with inoperable lung cancer. Yes, cancer really sucks.

J1NX3D 10-26-2011 06:31 PM

Wow, so sad :( she was quite a character. I only really saw her OT contributions. RIP and condolences to her family and friends.

my 944 dash sports a yellow daffodil for breast cancer awareness here in NZ. i crew for my friend who races a 924 in the NZ Targa. Last year his wife won her battle against breast cancer and now we crew for her in a peugeot too. both cars are painted up to support the breast cancer society and spread awareness. Its one of those things people can't know enough about.

When I posted here about my own medical emergency earlier in the year, Lisa was one of the first to mail me with her best wishes and encouragement in that endearing no-nonsense, "just get her done" Aussie style of hers.

She was a wonderful person. RIP.

If there is a lesson to be drawn from this sad story it must surely be that we should all go out and get tested regularly for this terrible disease—because early detection is the key to winning against it.

930addict 10-26-2011 07:05 PM

I'm completely shocked. She didn't look older than my wife and I. She was a class act. RIP, Lisa.

Paul K 10-26-2011 07:30 PM

Terrible news. Rest in peace, Lisa.

azasadny 10-26-2011 07:45 PM

What a sad day this has been. My thoughts and prayers go out to Lisa's family and friends...

Baz 10-26-2011 07:54 PM

Condolences to her family and friends.

I remember reading her posts not so very long ago - very sobering to hear of her passing.

I believe that anyone who has ever revved a flat 6 and/or surfed a large and beautiful wave - at least once in their lifetime - has achieved something very special. I know Lisa accomplished at least the first and therefore lived as only a few selected souls can - and for that I am very happy for her.

My next wave I will surf for Lisa. My next flat 4 rev - will be for Lisa.

God speed love.....

I think we can leave that as "the world has really lost a shining star..."
Always had that homespun way of saying something profound and caring. The world is a poorer place without her in it.

This entire year really sucks.

dewolf 10-26-2011 08:21 PM

Truly saddening. My thoughts are with the family. I know exactly what the nightmare is those poor kids are going through. May they have comfort knowing their mum was a kick-ass mum.
4 weeks, bloody hell, that is not enough time to get your affairs in order. Heart wrenching.

legion 10-26-2011 08:47 PM

I didn't know what this thread was about when I clicked on it. I thought maybe someone famous, or maybe someone's sister or spouse had passed away. I lost my dad five years ago and I usually avoid these kinds of threads because I don't like to think about it. I NEVER thought for a second it could be about our Lisa.

Like everyone else, I am in shock. It's a terrible loss to our little community, but I really feel for her family right now. Lisa was one of the good ones. Godspeed.

Amen to that.

They can only get better from here on in.

Yup. I'm just returning from being away and this is devastating news.

We love Lisa_Spyder.

Bill Douglas 10-26-2011 10:11 PM

I dusted off the 911 and did a drive around the peninsula thinking of Lisa. As an extra mark of respect I kept the revs above 4k. God bless you Lisa.

Rufblackbird 10-27-2011 12:38 AM

wow. can't believe what I'm reading :( RIP Lisa!

Mothy 10-27-2011 01:32 AM

Been down in the dumps all day after I found out. Lisa was a great help many times when I needed info or advice and she used to post a lot on the Australia/New Zealand regional forum - and not always about Porsche - we all felt we knew her well, as well as her family.

It's now the Dimming of the Day and tomorrow life goes on for the rest of us.

RIP Lisa - you will not be forgotten.

Tim

dewolf 10-27-2011 01:41 AM

I'm still freaking out that it was all over in 4 EFFIN WEEKS. That poor family. I have been through this as a teen and I would wish it on no-one.
Every time I hear of a young person dying all I can think of is that Terry Jacks song, Season's in the Sun.

Groesbeck Hurricane 10-27-2011 03:48 AM

I am VERY stunned!

My prayers to her and her family, she will be missed and remembered by many. She touched all our lives!

Hard-Deck 10-27-2011 04:50 AM

My sincerest condolence. I really enjoyed her interaction here.

I hope somebody here is a better searcher than I. Remember Lisa's thread of showing at a town council meeting in a feed sack?

I'd sure like to see that pic again. A good way to remember Lisa...as a classy lady who wasn't aftraid to fight for a just cause.

There is a thread in the regional section (NZ and Australia) she started that will break your heart with joy for who she was.

pwd72s 10-27-2011 09:42 AM

Paul...you mean this one?

Lisa's joy of life came through strongly. She will live on through her children.

I would have much rather had her get my back in a bar fight than some of the rest of you.:p

She was a class act all the way.

VINMAN 10-27-2011 11:04 AM

Holy crap! How sad. My condoleces to her family. :(

svandamme 10-27-2011 12:32 PM

Mods, can't this be a sticky? Or better: a decent link on top of all forums? next to the one for Warren Hall?

ramonesfreak 10-27-2011 05:25 PM

wow very sad. her 911 advice was as good as the best around here and her personal opinions just as insightful and thoughtful. wish i had thanked her the last time she taught me something.

Chocaholic 10-27-2011 05:31 PM

Those poor children. Our loss hurts. There are no words to describe theirs.

Hug your loved ones.

Losing someone in the family is never good or easy, but I think I'd prefer to have someone go out in 4 weeks instead of a long slow affair. Sort of like pulling off a bandaid quickly. It's sort of how my father went a few years back (I think it was also about a month).

I still hate to even see this thread.

red-beard 10-27-2011 06:46 PM

Too all the women in this forum, and all of those that know and love a woman, go get them boobies checked! One of our close neighbors has had breast cancer twice now! Fortunately for her, she is checked regularly and they caught it at "Stage 0" the second time.

I for one am going to send Margarita off tomorrow to get checked. Lisa, I am so sorry! But maybe this will be the wake up call we all need.

Cheers to you! I do hope we will meet, on the other side.

911michael 10-27-2011 07:58 PM

A couple more pictures in remembrance of a classy lady.
