The value of the 42 year old car will only go up, as opposed to a 2 year old mustang that will never be worth what the original sticker price was, if you can find one that still runs and hasn't had all of it's plastic bits disintegrate in the next 40 years........

of course, not all of us will live or drive for 40 more years I know of a 1971 911E that had been meticulously modified quite a bit in a period correct way, not so great paint, that sold for nearly $40 just a few weeks ago. It was sort of a forced sale (car proceeds will be used to build a new & larger house). | ||

For $15k someone stole that thing. Amazing deal. Maybe I'll get an early one someday. I certainly wouldn't say "no" to one like that for $15k!

Resale value means little to nothing for me...and right now, that 2 year old Mustang is just running fine, thank you. I also had a '70 911T, bought new...so I have the credentials to back up my claim that PT Barnum was right. The engine fire @ 4,000 miles was only the worst problem I had with that Turkey...not a high point of 911 design.

Wrong seats but the rest looks OK. Right trim. I'm sure the tin worm is what held the price down. And we don't know what motor was in there.

Yeah...miss those. They were great for tossing butts out...but then, the '70 911T didn't have them either. So Randy, you sold your car?

Oh, you're one of those *********s who throws his butts out the window... I'm pretty sure the car came with an ash tray...

Randy, the 912 window frames with the vent window fits with little modification. I ground a little off the underside I think. The passenger side frame is classified as unobtainable. Sorry this is the best picture available. The original frame is hanging in the corner behind the light.

I've got a bunch more than that in my car & it isn't even together & runniing yet. I don't think I will ever sell it either no matter how much I'm offered. I agree $15K is a steal if it's not rusted.

Didn't the longnose long wheelbase Targas retain opening wing windows? Maybe my senior memory is playing tricks on me...

Thought so...should be a fairly easy chore to put in Targa side windows if one really wants vent wings.
