Gift for Porsche owner

I'm trying to come up with a cool gift idea for my step-father who has an 82' SC Targa.

He is not hardcore Porsche, but would appreciate a Porsche related gift.

Quick history. He won't sell it to me. He bought the car years ago on a whim. Car has approx 30k miles. It has sat in his garage for 4 years or so despite my ribbing him. I finally got him to have a shop come pick it up and get it running. $5k later and it is purring like a kitten. He now vows to drive it more often, and to leave it to me in his will.

Anyway, I would like to get him something for the car or Porsche related for Xmas.

Any ideas?

When dad bought the 84 911 in '88, PCNA had drivers ed days at various tracks. Dad got to go down to Sebring, learn how to really drive, and got some lap time...

Anything similar available in your area?

5K to get it running? He probably hates you by now.

Buy him a Pelican gift cert and point him in the direction of the boutique.

Since the car has been sitting for a while you could get him a nice detailing job for the car.
Or offer to do it for him and invite him to join you in the job. Share with him getting the love back.

Cheers Richard

Seriously...perhaps a nice Porsche logo mug, some quality coffee and a coffee table book on the SC's. Or to make him feel better about the $5K an autographed copy of Stephan's book "The Gold Plated Porsche" (about an $80K restoration of an SC.).

Give him something to do while he's waiting for things to thaw out in Michigan. lol

Some good ideas here. Don't live near him so some of these would not apply.

Not sure the exact dollar amount he spent on the car repairs. He mentioned $5k, but he was having some work done on his Harley too. I know the fuel pump was bad. I think brake lines and fluid if not full brake job. Oil and tune-up items. He said nothin major just a lot of little things.
