In a surprise hire today, Texas A&M announced the hiring of former PennState asst Jerry Sandusky. Sandusky's comment on his hiring was that he would have those boys turned around in no time.*

this does not look good for him---

^^^ Facts, schmacts.
And now Mrs. Sandusky has spoken up and professed her pedophile husband is, in fact, innocent. What a shock. And what a complete joke. |
Latest development, who writes this ****??? This is going to hurt!

Maybe a good shot of Propofol will help Sandusky.

Mike McQueary suing Penn State - Big Ten Blog - ESPN
McQueary filing suit against Penn State under whistleblower's statutes. Wait....what? McQueary says HE should've been protected?!? This is the same guy that, under his own admission, witnessed a ~60 yr old guy sodomizing a 10 yr old boy and walked away without intervening? *sigh* |
sandusky convicted.
Jury finds Jerry Sandusky guilty on dozens of child sex abuse charges - CNN.com Too bad that piece of crap joe-pathetic took the dirt nap. He should be in jail too. Spare me the "but he helped so many" blabber. He KNEW sandusky was doing it and did NOTHING to change things. |

Now comes the university's responsibility......

Glad to see them make it official. Although as I said way back in Post 5 (which many vehemently disagreed with, based on Paterno's ultra high "morals and ethics" etc.), this was obvious to anyone with any objectivity.
Of course Paterno and the university had been covering it up. |
You had to be blind, deaf and dumb not to see it was a major cover up. Cowards, that's what they are. They should be taken to the woodshed and have a broom handle stuck up their butts'

Some brief headlines this morning has the NCAA involved with the coverup. We'll see.

The report is, however, a clear and unambiguous indictment of Penn State leadership and the football program. The ES is worth reading. |
So if SMU got the death penalty back in the 80's for paying players, what should the NCAA do with Penn State's program?
They should be banned from Bowl games for the next 10 years and let them eat the fund raising losses. The ONLY REASON the administration didn't go to the police is that they knew it would affect their fund raising. eff them all. |
I don't know if the NCAA has a dog in this hunt. What happened had no bearing on any actual on field or recruiting violations.
Just violations of the worst kind.... |

So I've been hearing about this all day without the connecting dots - what facts have they learned that connect to Paterno knowing about this?
And BTW - I'm such a non-football guy that I never heard about Paterno till I heard about the Sandusky scandal. |

Here is the report. I got through the exec summary, the timeline, and the details of the first couple of incidents before I was to disgusted and discouraged to continue. I hope JoePa and everyone else involved in this cover up burn in hell. Its absolutely atrocious. And everyone here is guilty, from the people who were actively involved to covering up the behavior to the trainers and other staff who witnessed Sandusky showering with children and "didn't find it inappropriate" Things like this really challenge the faith I have in humanity. |
^^The worst part of this is that despite the evidence, the PSU slappies, JoPa lover (and his family) are all in denial....STILL.
Turns my stomach.... |
Saw a guy wearing this shirt a few weeks ago...

Not surprising. Penn State is religion around here, and Paterno was the messiah. Tickets for what was supposed to be his last game (before he got fired) were selling for 10,000 dollars, for a freakin' college football game. Jo had the political juice that he could have stopped Sandusky, but he didn't. How he ever slept at night is beyond me, and I hope he is burning hot where he's at now.

I read the ES and breezed over the body, then read most of the Exhibits.
The university's top-down management was more concerned about the negative press that insisting upon REAL legal action against their pedophile would bring the school than the safety of the victims. They KNEW it happened and treated it with egregious dismissal all to save face. Janitors KNEW it was going on and admitted that they feared firing. I say even the janitors are culpable. It's just ridiculous to think that kind of mindset is that widespread within any organization. Sandusky even wrote in a letter regarding retirement that he was concerned for his own mental health. If the school had taken the correct actions, they would have been applauded for their candidness. Instead, they have directly facilitated child rape and protected a pedophile. |
Denial runs strong in the Paterno Family.....
They are worst than OJ as they are now going to investigate the truth......
Paternos' review of Freeh report unneeded - ESPN 100 million dollar mess that PA residents get to pay for. I would love to go to a game just to boo their entry into their Skybox..... |
Not much being said about the kids (victims), guess they're just collateral damage. It's all joepa and Penn State. Pretty sad.

If Penn State gave safe harbor to a child molester, can you imagine the potential for a raft of sexual harassment cases, hiring issues and workplace intimidation? I know of two janitors that have had C-130's full of lawyers parachuting over their houses since the report came out. If I was the head of PS, Jay is in my office this afternoon. It is a new day, Son, and here is how it is going to work...the kids first, Daddy about 300th. |
The news playing in our lunchroom at the office was showing a banner pulled behind a plane saying "Remove the JoePa statue or we will" flying over State College today.

I wonder what provokes more outrage; pedophiles in church or pedophiles in college athletics?
Athletics and religion in America. Two institutions. Similar allegations. The Catholic church is still intact. Will IS boosters or critics win out? Sherwood |
Prolly Colleges....they have deeper pockets and are new ground for lawsuits....
|
I have no dog in this fight and I am not a football fan. But is there any PROOF that Paterno knew that Sandusky was a molester? It seems he understood there was an investigation, but did he know for sure and do nothing? If so, I completely understand - I just haven't heard that.

Did you read the report? Did he actually see it happening? Doubt it. What should a prudent man do? |
Just read the timeline - you're right and I'm wrong.

Amazing people usually have amazing dark sides also. Look around. Wonder.
|
I would like to see a number of things happen.
1. Criminal prosecutions. 2. Wholesale firings, top to bottom. 3. The university banned from college football for a period, and banned from bowl play for a longer period (multiple years). 4. The university's football budget redirected to child welfare. 5. That stupid statute melted down. |

Statue of Paterno Taken Down - WSJ.com
Deservedly so. I won't celebrate it's removal, but I'm pleased it gone. Jo-pathetic once had the entire team pick up trash because a couple teammates got into a little trouble. That's just one example of how strict he was. But when his high and mighty program was faced with some real scandal, he did what any control freak would do to save his own ass from scrutiny and embarrassment. I just wish he were alive to feel the full brunt of his actions. What a joke. |
