Where can I find an adapter sleeve for a 12 volt cigarette lighter socket??

I have a Vanagon with a cigarette lighter socket on it (Euro size - i.e. too large in diameter) and want to plug in a battery maintainer there + lots of other camping accessories. Since the US sized plugs are smaller, they wobble and fall out.

I know they used to make these plastic sleeves to fit on the plugs to adapt them to the larger sized Euro sockets:

Nobody around here has them - no parts stores (even the old, family owned funky one), no Radio Shack or electronics stores have them either.

Haven't been able to find these via we search (tho I CAN find pics with a note saying out of stock, NLA, etc.). Thought maybe Valentine would have them but nope.

Any ideas on who might have them?

Saw socket holders at wally world... should be easy enough to just wire one in ...

I just cut a sleeve from a plastic milk jug...used electrical tape to keep it in place. This was for a plug in volt meter. Worked fine.

Another solution would be to hard wire a USA female socket in...I had a stereo shop do this to my 911 decades ago..the socket just hung below & behind the dash when in use, tucked away out of sight when not. Probably better than having to sleeve a lot of 12v male fittings.

I went to an auto parts store, bought a U.S. spec socket, cut a slit down one side and the bottom off, then slipped it inside the Euro-spec socket.

Your local BMW dealership should stock them, That is where I bought the ones I needed

Thanks all. I'll try either the bicycle tube or BMW solution.
