Buck season opens here in a week. I am so busy it's stupid. I put 5 scopes on yesterday and that includes lapping the rings and bore sighting. I have two other deer rifles that have to go out before Monday. I have an LC Smith that is close to completion for the owner of my shop. I NEED to finish that as they are so gracious to me. I would like to work on a project of my own, maybe the Fox I found on saturday, but after the holidays. Besides I think it's Neil's turn to do a gun. The Fox he bought is a very special gun. I will follow his thread with great interest. The next Pelican gun I will be doing will be Joe's muzzle loader. That will be a good thread too, I'm sure. | ||

Dave, I am slowly starting to post things to my spoon projects thread. Although, I should start a new thread for each project. Paul, any help and advice on the Fox will be greatly appreciated.

David, Thanks for posting the progress on this nice old piece. I get such a lot of pleasure from seeing how the processes are carried out and admire the results. Thanks again. Les

I recently bought a contemp PA LR, beautiful carving, patchbox and engraving from a guy in FL...I had a bad baddd feeling about its shipping and sure enufffff..it came broken, cracked right in front of the Flintlock crossing under neath right behind the brass plate on the left side....take out the screw in the tang and it is in 2 pieces. Lucky for me the guy who made the rifle is still alive and is willing to restock the rifle using the original parts... including the carving. Soooo. insurance on the shipping is going to cover. I am too lazy to take pics but will. Did U hear my crying on this one? Asked the guy how much it would be for him to build a like rifle... $5000 was the answer.

Very nice work! I may be interested in your Stevens 311 410 if it is available. I have the Stevens 311 in 12, 16 and need a 410 to round out the set. Love them, they are indestructable. Marvin

Yes you may purchase it from me. However it has no wood. All the metal is perfect but it will need all the wood, a trigger guard and a butt plate. PM me if you like.
