My ordeal, trying to get rid of some leftover chrome tubing.

Had some leftover 3 ft sections of chrome tubing from a recent project.

Tossed them in the trash and when I came home that day they were still in the bin.

Everything else gone but them.

Next trash day when they take recyclables I put them back out and when I came home they were still there but with a note that they can't take the stuff. Something about EPA regulations blah blah blah.

Posted a free "come get them" on Craigslist but after 20 calls the first day asking if they'd make a good stripper pole I pulled the ad. I had no idea there were that many midget strippers.

Tried ditching them in the dumpster behind Walmart but got busted by a cop taking a nap back there. Who knew using someone else's dumpster could get you a $200 ticket.

While working on the wife's truck this weekend I needed a breaker bar so grabbed one and wouldn't you know it the were like 5/8's and fit perfectly over the end of my ratchet.

Put them back on Craig's list but advertised as breaker bars for $100 a piece. Sold all 4 in 2 days. Some guy just picked up the last one about an hour ago.

That was smart way to get rid of them and make some money. I was going to suggest selling them to the Harley crowd...

I'm sobbing . . .

About to buy two 36" towel bars, use the rods, and throw out the mounts and ends. Seems like waste of money and material. But . . .

That's an excellent story. The power of marketing.

I didn't understand Sid's response until I looked at the time stamp from another thread.

Ouch, indeed.

Hell, I figured he meant 5/8ths wall thickness pole, and was thinking "I wanna see the girl that needs a 5/8ths wall thickness pole". But hey I'm not here to judge...there's an ass for every seat.
