Please help me convince/bug my teenage daughters.
I am more than a little embarrassed asking for this. It feels awkward but I would need your help with this.
As many of you supposedly are aware of, I publish short You tube clips of myself with my guitar. The main reason is that I love to just sit down, grab the guitar and without any preparation start fooling around with different, random series of chords and rhythms. It usually takes no more than a couple of minutes to find the basic structure for a tune. Problem is I tend to forget them quickly and as even short clips take up an enormous amount of space in the computer, I realized that I could just publish it on you tube as a way of storing for memory. Now, Olivia (livi) and Julia, my teenage daughters, just canīt stop laughing at me. I deliberately make fun of myself on the clips to annoy them and they think its silly and basically crap. Lately they have argued their case by the fact that most clips they watch have millions of views/clicks, while mine have very few - proving that, in fact, my playing is garbage. This of course makes them laugh even more at me. Now, if I only could find a way to get more views/clicks, maybe I could make them shut up. Problem is of course that I have chosen such a ridiculous name that no one will stumble on it surfing the tube and if they by chance do so, they will turn it off immediately. So what I asking of you is if you would be so kind and string the clips along from time to time and by all means tip everyone you know to do the same. That way perhaps the viewing number would go up a bit and silence my daughters for while. Here is a link. There are some thirty clips at the moment. Or just type 'dr fluffers blues'. Thanks so much!

Do repeat visits add to the viewcount?
I'm letting them play in the background right now. ![]() Send beer my way. PS, your link is messed up.

Marcus,
Link wouldn't work for me, but I had no trouble finding Dr Fluffer Blues. Forget trying to convince teenage girls anything. Teenagers, as you should know have the unfortunate opinion that the rest of the world knows nothing (especially parents) and that everything they do is being done for the first time. Maybe that's why they feel the need to go out into the world and make stupid mistakes, just like we did. Best of luck with the project! Best of luck with the girls. Les

I searched Dr fluffer's blues and watched a few. I've seen worse.
![]() Wish I could play the guitar like you. You need Taylor Swift singing back up for you. I'm surprised the vids haven't gone viral. |

Teenagers already know everything, so your efforts will be futile, Markus.

What immediately....
came to my mind is that Dad is not cool when daughter(s) are teenagers. I have a daughter who moved out of the house a couple of years ago. I have no idea whether cool is the name for me now or not. To tell u the truth I dont know and I dont care. I think that u are being paranoid about what others think. If you enjoy playing the guitar and singing go for it. If you have a dog that starts howling and covering its ears with its paws, then maybe u are not cool. However life is for living so I would continue to do what u enjoy doing. I will give u the benefit of the doubt and listen to your u tube. Great question cool or not

Markus ol' buddy. I will try to increase your view count but here's my view. I stopped being a hero to my daughter when she was 12. There was nothing for it at all. I couldn't convince her that I was still worthy of her adoration. So I stopped trying and simply kept on beingthe Dad I always was. When she started college she showed faint signs of being my girl again. the older she got the wiser she became. It was a long wait but she now gets it. I'm still not " cool" in her book but she respects me, she values me. Now she's 29 and I'm the one she calls for advice, for help, for support and mostly just to talk. Now THAT'S cool..

Thanks! This is turning into a thread on the general topic of being a father to teenagers and I think thats great! The father-teenage daughter relationship is enigmatic to many, me included. I find your thoughts grand and very valuable.
Funny. Every time I have reached out to you guys during the years, I feel awkward and fear that I will be dismissed or at least not taken seriously - only to find, time after time, the most loving and generous attitude. Thank you for being great people!!

Just out of curiosity - is there a plan to answer the question "Daddy, why is your name Dr. Fluffer?"

Who cares what kind of click count you have? That face alone leaning into your shoulder is all that matters.
