Clowns: Creepy Cool or Who cares

I never really thought about clowns much. The wife is creeped out more than somewhat by them. They are apparently amusing to some, but it is the patter more than the greasepaint, perhaps the prestidigitation I suppose.

What do you think about clowns?

I admit it, I am really bothered by them. I can't explain it, but they freak me out. I won't go to the circus.

one of just a handful of restaurants in my hometown is a place called "the magic wand." the place is adorned with literally hundreds of clowns, clown pictures, dolls, etc. we used to call it the "tragic wand." if you ever find yourself in Churubusco, Indiana, and you want to be creeped out.....

Worth Your Attention: Magic Wand- Churubusco, IN

I never thought much about them either way until Captain Spaulding. Now, as my two-year old says, "Don't like".

I found them entertaining as a kid (went to the circus a few times). Clowns (in character) therefore don't bother me. The people who DO "clowning" freak the crap out of me. I've met a few and the common thread is that they all come off as people who have serious psychological disorders and a healthy dose of mental instability, possibly involving sexual deviancy and/or pedophilia.

I like watching them at the circus and stuff as they can be funny, but I'd never get any closer than a entertainer/audience type of contact. Preferably from a safe distance.

Don't like them, too creepy. John Wayne Gacy, IMO, ruined it forever for clowns.

I find them mildly creepy. The one guy I know whose hobby is being a clown never smiles, never. Even dressed in his clown outfit he creeps around looking like he's got a stick up his butt and a slice of lemon in his mouth. Odd guy.

Hate them big time. especially the ones in all white with those stupid pointy hats. major heebee jeebies.

! remember going to the circus as a kid and coming home and hiding the program, because there was a picture of one on the cover.

Some comedian on the TV a while back was saying that a clown is just a transvestite that didn't know when to quit.

Don't like clowns.

For the real truth re: clowns, rent or download "Shakes the Clown" and see Bobcat Goldwaithe, Robin Williams, Kathy Griffin, Adam Sandler, Florence Henderson, etc. at their disturbing best.

I'm ok with clowns.... MIMES however, are evil. EVIL that must be beat down. I don't know what the hell is wrong with mimes. And worse is American mimes. it's not an artform that comes from here. If you want to be a euro poser move to France. Oh, did I say mimes need to be beat down.
