wife is always calling with bad news.

does it seem like your wife is always calling with bad news and at times that you cant do anything about it?
this is just in the past week or so:

call day before thanksgiving- i just wrecked the car. (2000 mercedes E320) that we have had less than 6 months. (i need to do another thread on all her "body work".
mind you, these are all phone calls that i cant do anything about at the time and i think can wait until i get home, except the car wreck of course.

call: we did not have insurance for the wreck. she made a late payment and they dropped our insurance and never sent us notification.

call: the check engine light is on.

call: the check engine light is off, but i smell gas when i start the car

call: i smell this funny smell in the jeep like coolant and the temp gage says it is only 100 degrees.

here is her list of "body work". i think she does this just to see how good my body work skills are. this is for cars we no longer have too:

volvo 760 turbo: all 4 cornors had dents. she has a thing for mailboxes. i think she got one of the mirrors with a mailbox too. one someone ran into her, and with no insurance. one my brother did, but still, her car.

95 volvo 960: nice dent down the side from a mail box. she was hit from behind i think twice and she ran into someone once.

99 jeep: less than 6 months she backed into a tree in our yard.

my truck: she thought she could drive onto concete, 4 inches above grade, from dirt at 30 mph. blew the tire and bent my rim.

93 dodge stealth: only car i ever bought new. a friend of hers backed into the door 3 months after we bought it.

mercedes: ran into someone.

when i bought the mercedes, i was seriously thinking about looking for "the wife repair kit" (front hood, lights, and bumper) so that i would be prepared. too late now. (anyone have a white hood and bumper?)

i know you will ask, what about me.
i spun my 914-6 and bent the exhaust
i hit a deer with my 914, bent the hood and light
i barely tapped this deuchebag when he stopped at a yeild sign when no one else was in sight. no damage. this does not count, we were not marrried.

ya gotta love um though.

BTW. in 10 years, she has NEVER driven the 911 and so far, no damage to my BMW.

My wife does that all the time
the tap is leaking: call Mike (plumber buddy)
the headlight burned out on the car: take it to Dan (local car repair buddy)
Molly's sick: take her to the Vet
there's a bear and a cub in the backyard: stay inside

Its always small stuff and I work 5000 miles away from home so there is nothing I can do about that stuff anyways. I try to encourage her to do this kinda crap on her own, "what happens when I'm dead (almost 18 year age difference)" that always leaves her stumped, I fear she will be hooped when I'm gone, it will be our son's job then I guess.

most of our phone conversations:
her- blah blah blah blah.
me- .................................................. .................................................. ...........love ya too, bye.

Wow, she sounds like a piece of work, but they all do in their own special way. They're all SISTERS, they just live in different houses.

You should:
1) Get here a cheap, reliable beater and make her drive it with dents.
2) U pay the bills/insurance.
3) Limit the phone conversations...Sounds like if it's not bad news, she just likes to talk. Common trait.

btw, all 4 corners of my wife's Lexus are trashed. The front suspension is also tweaked, because she put the car in drive instead of reverse, and drove over a parking block.....a parking block that was put in place to prevent you from driving off the 4 foot high drop off on the other side. Tow truck had to drag it back over the edge.

If one of my machine guys calls me when I'm away at a race, even if I can't be there to fix it, I'm happy they called because I can give advice on how not to mess it up more while fixing it.

There's nothing like coming home from a trip to find a machine more broke than it ever would of been because they didn't call because I was out of town.

She's not expecting you to teleport over there, but she is letting you know whats going on, maybe seeking advice, etc.

Yep, only negative things on a call.

Let's face it, when have you ever heard of the wife calling to say, "Hi and I love you" with no strings? You'd probably say, "Great but I'm a little busy right now. Can we talk about it when I get home?"
