Saw my first Po-po pony car

Yeah, the other day, I saw my first version of one of the new pony cars converted into a police car. It was a new Camaro.

I didn't get any pics, but found these online.

It's one of those marked, but not cars. Dark markings on a dark car.

We have a bunch of white on white Dodge Chargers running around the area too.

Sneaky, sneaky

An Oregon cop mustang...total stealth..not even running publicly owned plates...guy who got ticketed says it was Roush supercharged.

Low profile or totally hidden inside...nothing like these in a photo I took... I-5 1975...you'll never see light traffic like that these days.

Our little town has one, the cop who drives it, actually gives someone a little room so he has to play catch up. I am glad that guy is a friend of mine.

+1.....and they were pretty easy to spot.

As of late, they have Chargers with no top lights and small, hard to identify pushbars on the front.

They are still that MSP blue, though. Well, most of them anyway.

Indiana too. They are easily recognized when parked by the side of the road by the uniformed person talking to the driver of the car parked in front of them.

Yes, mustangs and camaros have been run as police cars for a long time. I guess I should have been more clear and said that this is the first of the newest generation of pony cars that I've seen. I haven't seen any of the last couple generations of mustang. We have had some of the previous generation of camaros here. The new pony cars seem pretty pricey to be police cars. I assume the manufacturers give them a huge discount and write it off as advertising or something.

NCSHP had Mustang trunkies in the '80s and '90s, then they had a fleet of bi+chin Camaros in the early '00s mostly for patrolling the interstates. Hell, these days, even the local municipal fuzz has Mustang for some reason.
