Musicares and the Blues Foundation also contributed a total of $5K, some other private donations also came in. Hubert's manager said she will take all the remaining money that was donated and return it to the Blues Foundation's H.A.R.T. fund. She was pretty stressed about it and very relieved now.

You'd feel good knowing the "big names" who contributed for a "proper" headstone for Lead Belly's gravesite down here a few years back.

I heard Sir Paul bought a proper headstone for James Jamerson. We musicians are a good lot really.

Keith Richards has paid many, perhaps all, of Hubert's medical bills for about 10 years straight now, due to Hubert's lack of health insurance and his inablity to acquire said health insurance. Perhaps you need to adjust your perspective. That ain't lunch money.

Hey, the title didn't suggest that. I think it's noble that he did. It's probably still lunch money.

It may be lunch money, but I haven't spent six figures on any of my heroes. If Keith hadn't have paid all those medical bills, I wouldn't have had the pleasure of spending 2 months on a tour bus this year with Hubert. So, point taken and immediately tossed in the bin, from my perspective.

Clapton & Page made donations to the local effort to give him a proper headstone. Many musicians show up graveside to play tunes on his birthday. It's really a nice time out there.

Sorry if I offended. I see that the perspective is moot.

Even if it is lunch money, it's more about the gesture?
