Braintrust help
2 weeks ago my son got into a fender bender. Went to a body shop and got an estimate as well as the insurance company sending out an adjuster to inspect the damages. Today I got a check in the mail made out to me. I have chosen the body shop that I want to use so I'm taking the vehicle to the body shop tomorrow.
My question is do I just hand over the check and tell the body shop to fix it or does the body shop fix it then I hand over the money? ![]()

You deposit the check and pay the autoshop when the jobs done.

Bring check. Let them see it. Pay only after repairs are made and you are satisfied.
Remember, they have your car, as long as it's worth more than the amount of the bill the leverage is in their favor. If they refuse to do the work unless paid in full up front find some place else.
