What brand is it Scott?
|
Not sure, actually the bottom 20% is scrambled so I think it is a communication problem.
Have to pull the sign down to look at it, it is in the center of a public gallery. Huge PITA to take it down. But it keeps me out of trouble. |
Congrats Sidney! Might get to meet you if I ever make it to Houston in the near future.
|
All the pixels still light though?
Check all your connectors, that seems like a comm problem. |
Bill, what part of Tejas? I will be traveling the whole region, I may end up in your town at some point.
|
Great news.
Well done, Sid. |
Going to Brookings, SD?
|
Brookings it is....
|
still run by the Kurtenbachs?
|
I have no idea.

It's my understanding that they started it...it's now publicly traded so who knows. Went to school with Steve K.. He was a nice guy who ended up in a long term relationship with a gal I knew for a short time.
Brookings was a pretty nice town...especially in the summer when all the college kids left. Go Jackrabbits!! |
Congrats, Houston is a great city.
|
You're going to have to sell your classic Porsche's...people don't drive those in Houston!
I bet I know where you're working too, I drove past the place for 4 years going to high school every day! |
Congratulations.
|
Congratulations Sid!!
It sounds like your life will begin a new chapter. Good luck with everything. |
Who am I going to do while I'm in brookings if all the college kids are gone?
No need to sell the 944. Not going to be gone that long. Oh and this company hasnt has a presence in Houston for very many years |
Sid, great job. I figured that pharmacology was no longer in your future, but was not expecting this. Enjoy the internship. Digital signage has a bright future ahead of it, think Minority Report.
|
well done sid!
best move for the future is an internship.. well done. |

So, to top off this good news, I just got my grades for the semester....
Straight 4.0! |
Well done, Sid.
Great work from the young man. |
Way to go Sid good news breaking on all fronts. I think this internship will be very useful for you. Just like new info helped you realize the good in moving on from the pharmacy work. This experience will add to your insight and be a help in planning how to move forward career wise.
Great job with your school work also, you are making us all proud. Cheers Richard |
You're on a roll, Sid. Way to go!
|
Hide yer daughters....
|
Ok I got a packet with the formal offer letter today, they sweetened the pot a bit too...
Aside from the great pay, the apartment, car, phone, and laptop, they will reimburse moving expenses and I have 1k I can use to go home at some point during the internship, or to cover my parents expenses to come see me... I'm so ready for may! |
The last time I heard about a job offer like yours Keanu Reeves and Al Pacino were negotiating on the ledge of a high rise in NY. Seriously, good luck. It can be the experience of a lifetime.
|
I know, when I got all the details I realized I couldn't turn it down.... Its a killer experience, and really good pay....
|
Way to go!

The only way I would take an employment off right after would be if they were paying for me to finish my school...
Right now my school is paid for, and I'll be able to graduate debt free, I intend to finish fairly quickly when I get home... |
Sidney,
My first major employer started me as an intern in the summer between Junior and Senior year. They kept me on, part time, while I finished my degree. That is the only way you might consider it. I suggest you get college done as quickly as possible. If they want you, they will have a position waiting. Welcome to Houston! |
That is the only thing I would consider as well... I know they offer scholarships to interns, so its a possibility...
|
Well done sir. Houston is a really nice, clean, and fun city. Enjoy the years ahead of you!
|
Sid, it sounds like the sign industry has done you good. I guess growing up in the business will help a lot.
|
Yes Glen the sign industry has done me well. Its funny that these guys are one of the more recent contacts we have made in the industry. I have been going to trade shows since I was very small though. My dad was president of the association here in OK back in '97, so anyone that has been around the association that long remembers me as being a small child. I have gotten a considerable amount of scholarship dollars from the association as well. Its funny that for years I've tried to stay as far away from it as possible, and now I've gone and dove in head first....

Sid, all I can say is.............Discount?
|
Haha, I don't think I can help you with that as an intern....
But if you have something you could use our product for be sure to give me a shout.... |
Sidney,
Congrats! Keep your eye on the prize and your path keyed towards a confortable retirement. Living well has it's own rewards! Enjoy Houston! |
