My "new" porsche arrived yesterday :)
Well, new to me. I figured I would share with my pelican brethren as well. I recently sold my 2002 Porsche 996 after 2 years. Nice car, great daily driver-but it was a tip and I missed having a manual gearbox. I picked up a 2001 Porsche 911 turbo. It arrived yesterday. I was really torn between a 930 and the 996TT. Aircooled porsches hold a special place for me. I love them but the 996 was more accomadating for the wife and two kids to ride in-3 point rear seat belts, working air con, heat etc.
A ride in the 420 hp 996TT sealed the deal for me. My buddy who went with me said he had not seen that big of a grin on my face in a long time. Here is my first 911. An absolutely great porsche. I miss it. ![]() The 996 I just sold. Never let me down. Drove it all the time. Loved the color. ![]() The 996TT Pulling into the yard for the first time: ![]() Home at last. The whole process of buying this car took almost a month. ![]()

It will be except for the winter. I think we will have a few days before the snow really comes down. It is AWD so it should be fine on the cold roads.

I traded my 996 in so negotiation on price, who would cover shipping, trade value. My 996 was picked up Monday and the same transport brought the 996TT to MI from Nebraska on friday. It was a long wait all together but it all worked out. Like Oh Haha said just in time for the snow

Looks great! We need some better pics. That was a big step up in the looks department as well as performance. A turbo in the right colors w/ the right wheels is a great-looking car.

I believe that Tab Tanner and I talked to you on the Fall Color Tour, back in Sept and you were trying to sell the cae, or were just starting the process? I'm glad it worked out for you!

Fantastic car!!! It's my next Porsche, I think. I would seriously consider an ECU tune. My jaw dropped the first time I drove a 996 TT before/after a simple ECU tune. Car was otherwise stock. It went from feeling "fast" to feeling like a "beast". Yet it drove completely stock when driven normally. You must flash this car!!
Congrats!!

I had already looked a 996TT in the Detroit area when we spoke last. It was a sad car-abused. I was actively looking at the time for others. I saw this car on autotrader. Looked great but did not think I would be able to close a deal on it. But it all worked out. I will be at the next drive for sure with this car. Hope I will see you there. Thanks for all the kind comments everyone. I spend the day driving the car. I love it. I am going to wait a bit before considering modifications. Part of the fun (for me at least) is reading up and learning how some of these things work.
