Evidence of this is that the days are now getting longer.

The sun is returning.

The High Priests were right!

The sacrifices were effective!

I'll work till I croak I reckon. Come on down, we have plenty room left here in Florida and prices are good for real estate too. I'm going to try and find something closer to home other than the gas field up there but that section of the country is hot right now. Ehh, hot employment wise, not temp!!!

I celebrate the Winter Solstice every year for the beginning of longer days. I could not spend a winter in Alaska with 4 hours of light. However, I don't think I'd like the summer either.

In Northern Mexico they sacrificed people to the Sun Gods to get the sun to "come back" as it moved lower in the sky every winter. First they sacrificed people they caught from other tribes. Then the priests decided it would be a greater sacrifice to use their own people. Then they decided it would be a greater sacrifice to use their best warriors. Funny how they never came to the conclusion it would be an even greater sacrifice to use the priests!
Then the Spanish came and this practice ended.
