What happened to the #70 car in race 3 - he was there, then gone on the restart? He seems to be your toughest competition - looks like the points tally bears that out. He sure manages to get a ton of speed quickly after a restart!

Was told he noticed his water temp had climbed to 260 and he had to pull off. He and the 34 car are above me in points with good reason. Head to head on a sticky track, both can typically pull away from me if they have clean track ahead of them. On the extreme slick nights, I can more or less hang with them. Both have race shop prepped cars with top shelf components. Both have 7 plus years experience. Both are past track champs. I am thrilled on the multiple nights this year when I have finished 2nd or 3rd to them.... That said, I will take the win. ;):)

Yep.... most of these are 3 bar cars. As the car enters the corner, the rear end drives up under the car providing rear steer and the bars angles are such that the left rear wedges itself under the car to keep force on the left rear tire to provide traction. (ultimate traction occurs with a 50/50 weight distribution on rear tires)

No. 70's front left wheel steers straight when going slow and straight, but once he turns or is going fast, the wheel points *way* out to the left like there's something broken. I wonder if that gives him a little more bite in the turns?

Nevermind, his wheel is normal in the third race. I guess his steering was broken

Yeah, I heard he made contact with another car during that first race and broke his left tie rod... Surprisingly he was able to soldier on for awhile as he has very little weight on that left front when on the gas. He had a spare and was able to get it fixed prior to his heat race.

Placed 3rd in points 2016. 2017 Season Opener was Saturday night. Started 9th in heat and finished 2nd to 2015 track champ. Redrew #1 and started on pole of A-main with same car outside of me. Stayed relatively close in a caution free race and hung on for 2nd place. 3rd place #68 and 4th place #70 (both past track champions) were right on my heels on last lap but I held them off. The #68 car hit and spun me after the finish line but no damage to car luckily.

I tried it once with a go pro and in the first corner a chunk of mud landed on and covered the lens.

Gopro footage from last Saturday's heat #5. Started 4th finished 1st. Other than light contact end of lap 1, pretty boring to watch. Tried it again for the A-main and I evidently did not get the camera turned on with my gloved hand. Started 9th but got wrecked early by 3rd place in points guy (same guy who wrecked me after the checkers in season opener). Substantial damage to body and front end, but somehow was able to restart at the tail and made it back to 7th with a bent car.... One more lap and pretty sure I would have made it to 5th. Still barely 2nd place in points after 4 nights.

Awesome Tim! I took the kids to see the World of Outlaws sprint cars earlier this year, I think the World of Outlaws late models are coming late summer. We always see some modifieds race too, it's a good time.

Somehow I just took the points lead. Got second in A-main on Saturday night. Just past halfway in the season. Hoping for a win or two with a little luck.

Forgot to turn on camera until part way through race when we had to stop for red flag. Started 1st finished 2nd.

Lost 6 points Saturday night...now tied for points lead. 2 hour rain delay my bottom line was a swamp. Had to make due running middle for heat race and only made it up to 3rd after starting 6th. Started 11th in A-main and made it up to 4th (no video from a-main as a glob of mud covered my GoPro lens. Later in night I got to run in the top ten only Australian pursuit race which was a 10 lap cash race with inverted starting order by points race where one is eliminated if passed. I got third behind the guy I am tied with in points.

My wife has acclimated to the "every Saturday night" deal. She usually drives herself to the track right before the heat races start then leaves right after my feature race. Rumor has it that in the stands she cheers me on and gets pretty excited when the racing gets heated. ;)

She can't let you see her enjoying your racing efforts....that would only encourage you to do more.
