This could be a start:

Did you stub it on a coyote?
Buddy splint it to the 3rd toe. If you use tape, careful about it swelling. I like to use 1" coban/medi-rip/vet wrap for that sort of stuff. If the toe hurts but the foot is okay, I would not worry about it too much. Shaun's was worse, fracture dislocation rather than just a fracture. Lay off the drunken judo Todd. |
Old Old OLD Joke from about 4th - 6th grade elementry school.
"Who do you call when you break your Toe"?????????????????? wait for it............... wait for it.................... Heck of course you call............................ A "Tow Truck".......... grins. |
I think I'm just going to bubblewrap myself going forward...
The rest of the foot is fine. Well as fine as it was before as I don't have feeling everywhere due to nerve damage from the other coyote incident. |
I think I've seen better looking feet in a bucket...all by themselves. jeebus.

Are you using a lawn mower to trim your nails?[/QUOTE]
If I could stop laughing at this I would post something worth reading!! LMFAO!! |
I stubbed my toe on my bedframe last year. It looked pretty similar. It hurt for about 6 weeks. During that time I had fluoro'ed it in the OR (we don't have an x-ray machine in the office) and confirmed that yep, it was broken. I just let it be and it's healed. No real issues with it. If you're willing to come on over to the Valley, I can fluoro it for you anytime I'm in the office. We can meet on a weekend if that's more convenient. I don't live far away from the office.

The doctor has spoken.
My nails look better but the bruise and swelling looked the same when I broke my toe. Sorry Todd. |
Fluoroscope, cool, can you see yourself moving the toes in real time?
|
Yep. Useful to be able to look at stuff "real-time" like a video x-ray. The downside is that the resolution on a fluoroscope isn't nearly as good as from a properly done x-ray.
|
Well that, and the big dose of radiation.
Plenty handy for fishing insulin needles out of people's feet though. |
They usually stop hurting in a couple or three days.

A guy meets a girl at a bar and talks her into going home with him. As they start getting undressed, she looks at his feet and says "OMG, what happened to your feet?" He says "when I was young I had tolio".
Oh, was all she said. When he took off his pants, she said "OMG what happened to your legs?" He said "when I was young I had knee-sels". Oh. Then he took off his underwear and she said, "don't tell me. Small c**ks." Hope that isn't too much for the sensors. |

Ran the 2000 Boston Marathon with a broken toe. When you tape it, make darn sure that you don't tape it tight to the neighboring toe. Just enough to prevent it from hurting. A wee bit of movement stimulates the bone to heal faster. I broke the same bone a year earlier and also ran the 1999 Boston Marathon with a freshly healed broken toe.
