The PPOT Weight Loss Challenge 2012

Are you ready to do it again in 2012? The PPOT weight loss challenge is ON?

Need to shed the holiday pounds? Everyone enters each of the 3 categories automatically:

1. Most weight lost in pounds.
2. Most weight lost in percent of starting body weight.
3. Percent of weight loss goal achieved (be serious and have a challenging goal!).

Post your New Year starting data between Jan. 3rd and Jan. 9th by midnight Pacific Time. I realize that early birds will get a head start but I want to make sure we can catch everyone that returns from the holidays and those guys who only read and post during work hours (!).

Starting data needed (if you want to compete in all categories)

Screen name.
Age (optional)
Starting weight in pounds.
Body height in feet/inches (required for BMI calculation)
Weight loss goal in pounds.

Post your data every two weeks by Monday night midnight with the topic WEIGH IN. I will compile the data and announce rankings every two weeks. Final weigh in is on Monday December 31 before midnight Pacific Time.

Bonus points for body and scale and other pictures for documentation, even if the starting ones are kind of gross.

Thanks!

Kim, two things I realized reading this thread:

1. I love you just the way you are! ;)

2. I turned into a fat fuch this year. Went from 160 lbs to 172 lbs.

There in lies the goal... being able to lose all year plus continue over the holidays so that you do not put on weight during these days as much as you had lost during the earlier days...

Let's make this funner.
- Starting and ending photos! The grosser the better!
- Pretty graphs of each contestant's loss!
- Prizes! We have all year to think of some. I'll contribute.

Last year, I co-ran this with George and I didn't lose an ounce during the contest period. I think that, had there been the carrot (prize), the stick (ending photo), ongoing reinforcement (down sloping graph), and plenty of time for us slow starters, why, I would have come in second! To! Last!

Sounds good to me...

Positive reinforcement doesn't work for me. Can we have some sort of punishment for everyone that doesn't lose weight? Something humiliating? Or expensive? Maybe painful, like losing a digit or something.

Just throwing out some ideas.

12own911 01-03-2012 04:49 PM

You will have to give the organizer your Porsche or other high value item.

Will that work for you?

Burnin' oil 01-03-2012 04:56 PM

That's a good start, but I kind of like the losing a digit idea.

Screen name. jyl
Age (optional). 48
Starting weight. 183.2 lb
Body height. 5' 11"
Weight loss goal. 8.2 lb (end up at 175 lb)

Basically my goal for the year is to take off about 10-15 lb of fat and add 10+ lb of muscle, to get a single-digit body fat %, so if all goes well my weight should go down then up during the year - but this was the plan last year too . . .

Hubba hubba.

Do you have that in high res?

I thought you were recently banned?

etc.

jyl 01-04-2012 05:03 PM

Uh oh, is that inappropriate? I can delete or replace.

12own911 01-04-2012 07:11 PM

It is appropriate for the ladies on the board.... maybe not so much for the gents... :D
