Absolutely not. I'd just ignore the thing. If you ignore it, you've got plausible deniability. If you reject it or block the user, then they know that you saw it and actively turned them away. Who knows what that would make someone think. I don't want the trouble.

I'm on FB. I've got a few relatives, a couple of old HS buddies, and a bunch of old coworkers on it. I'm there for the networking. I'm rarely active. You can make yourself fairly private. If I get a request from someone that I don't want to be "friends" with, I just ignore it.

Btw, he's 12. Minimum age for FB is 13. When I saw that and asked her about it, she folded her arms, smiled and said "yeah, so?"

Become friends with your son. Make sure he knows that you don't always check it. You can set up so that if someone posts something specifically to you, you get an email. That way you won't miss anything from your son. My main reason for thinking that you should become friends with him is that you would be able to more readily see what he's doing on facebook and address it with him if you see something that you aren't happy about.

What could go wrong?

No... I have an old buddy from HS that was a druggie that calls about once a year... pretty sure he is looking for a couch to crash on... not happing.

FB is just a tool... like a cell phone... a good way to share info... but if misused it can/will make you look like an a$$.

I'm thinking ... NOT!

LOL! i might register a bogus account and friend them there, just to watch what happens. i would NEVER friend them with my proper account.

You're already well established and have a local clientele. FB is the holy grail for companies that want to communicate with a nation- or worldwide audience. I follow a few of my favorite businesses on FB and I get the notices on sales or members-only stuff before their FB non-friends get it. I have to be involved for FB for my job, but I have very few clients as FB friends. I got a free plane ticket to Germany last summer from a long-lost college buddy who had the miles to spare when I only needed to borrow some miles for a few mos. If you do it right, it can be a very good thing.

Yep, a business tool, our Dark Side DE founder told me that I had to join it as we would be using it to get the word about our events out, then I found that many of my clients were on, so I had to create another page for our business, and many of our entertainers are on there as well (course, when then cancel a gig and give a BS story, then post about playing some place else, and yes, I have busted a few;)) and it is a very easy way for me to post pix of my stuff for sale, so I created a page for that. I can be anywhere, take a picture with my phone, and post it directly in my For Sale album and it is broadcast right out to those who follow the page.

Well, I did some research and found out that he has been locked up for 20 years so far and is expecting to get out in 2018. He was written a few e-books and that his brother has set up a FB account to help promote his books. I read a page from one and frankly I wouldn't wipe my dogs ass with a page of it. But hay, thats me and what do I know bout writ'n?
