How many times do you start to post

a reply and then change your mind?

I do it all the time. In fact, I've changed my mind about starting this thread. But if I didn't post this, then no one would know I decided not to. Bit of a conundrum. Nope, that's it, I am not posting this thread.

scottmandue 01-05-2012 02:13 PM

I just want to say... uh... what?

Burnin' oil 01-05-2012 02:15 PM

I am sure that hundreds of people started replies and then changed their mind.

Then, well, then there's you . . .

This is an example of a reply I would ordinarily not post because it sounds mean, which it may be - who knows.

Rick V 01-05-2012 02:16 PM

..

wdfifteen 01-05-2012 02:20 PM

I started to reply, but changed my mind.

masraum 01-05-2012 02:22 PM

Yeah, I start to reply to threads and then change my mind. Sometimes I get as far as having everything typed out and just before I hit "Post Quick Reply" I change my mind. I also occasionally start threads and then change my mind.

Just not this time.

RANDY P 01-05-2012 02:23 PM

oh wait

iplagolf 01-05-2012 02:23 PM

I've thought about it several times and then when I do, I'm on page four...You snooze you loose...Not that being on page four makes you a looser...Did I just post???

scottbombedout 01-05-2012 02:31 PM

Don't press it, don't press it, don't press it.......... damn!!!! I pressed the Submit Reply button!

Gogar 01-05-2012 03:36 PM

I've really tried to monitor my own posts and not post where I'm just logging in to call someone a dumbass or a stoopid azzhole idjut or something.

Problem is when I started doing that I didn't post for 2 months.

More folks should try it. Especially all the stoopid azzholes.

stealthn 01-05-2012 03:50 PM

Geronimo '74 01-05-2012 03:53 PM

I'll reply in a minute, after I have changed my mind...

craigster59 01-05-2012 03:54 PM

craigster59 01-05-2012 03:55 PM

Constantly reply

craigster59 01-05-2012 03:55 PM

Over and over

craigster59 01-05-2012 03:56 PM

Again.

recycled sixtie 01-05-2012 03:56 PM

I like to listen or read and reply. I am sure many of us are sorry for the things we say. And I am sure many of us are sorry that we did not reply. That's why I am replying. Jump in with both feet and sometimes suffer the consequences.More fun that way. Some could say I am verbose. I just don't get it:DSmileWavy:)

craigster59 01-05-2012 03:59 PM

I notice I reply more when I'm good and liquored up...

fastfredracing 01-05-2012 04:06 PM

I do this, I will type up a lengthy reply, read it over, and think that some things are just better left unsaid, and delete the whole thing.

pete3799 01-05-2012 04:07 PM

This is my 3'rd reply

island911 01-05-2012 04:37 PM

just let it fly . .

watz the wusrt dadt can happen?

944Larry 01-05-2012 04:37 PM

I always reply. I'm too shallow to self analyze myself as far as my replies being appropriate and unoffensive. That make sense? Did I not need to reply here?

Zeke 01-05-2012 04:41 PM

About a forth of the time I just hit "go" and abandon whatever it was that I typed. If it doesn't interest me beyond the 3rd sentence, it surely won't interest you.

And that's assuming what I do post is of any interest.

OK, I've aborted this reply 4 times....Here goes #5:

How many times you reply with a very witty comment - and then be wide awake in the middle of the night and think: Did I really engage in that act of "Drunken Keyboarding"? Most times, you go back to sleep and check the 1st thing in the morning; often deleting the post.

On rare occasions, you get out of bed in a cold sweat and face reality...

When reading dribble of others, it's wise to check the time it was posted!

M.D. Holloway 01-05-2012 07:38 PM

never in fact I start threads and give replies even when I don't want to

A virtual biting of the tongue... I find myself doing it more often lately.

TheMentat 01-05-2012 09:17 PM

Funny you should mention it... I was just talking about this with my wife the other day...

I used to "get into it" during the pre-PARF era, until a fellow porschephile made a comment about some of the heated debates I was partaking in. I was a bit embarrassed about it at the time, and I now am much more reserved when it comes to debating in a public forum.

A930Rocket 01-05-2012 10:20 PM

Plenty of times.

What I dislike is being is a thread killer (last one to post).
