Look, pictures! Is that an NA 993 converted to a turbo? I see a powertrain, Stoptech brakes, interior, and are those aftermarket coilovers? Otherwise there's not much left.

gshase 01-05-2012 06:48 PM

My first thought on the wrecker it was totaled but all the rest it is good to go. Oh what kind of car is it?

stealthn 01-05-2012 06:50 PM

Please tell me you are not trying to fix it? I hope it's just a parts scavenge...

red-beard 01-05-2012 06:50 PM

Parts Heaven just got in a new car!

There was no blood. Customer was able to walk away. Simply unbelievable!

redstrosekNic 01-05-2012 06:51 PM

Holy crap- why is there tape on the passenger side of the car? That will leave residue!

:D

MBAtarga 01-05-2012 06:54 PM

Hey - I think the Porsche hood crest can be saved!

syncroid 01-05-2012 06:54 PM

Its a 1996 993TT with an Andial twin plug 3.8 liter motor. We are just taking it apart for the customer. He is currently looking for another car to transfer whats left that works into it. Its really sad.

syncroid 01-05-2012 06:57 PM

I'll add more pictures as we take it apart. That will probably be Monday unless I decide to go in tomorrow.

RANDY P 01-05-2012 07:15 PM

That brings a tear to my eye. Was such a nice car.

I think some JB Weld may be needed as well.

But if we have to bring out the duct tape she's a write-off

billjam 01-05-2012 08:23 PM

How come the air-bags didn't go off?

HardDrive 01-05-2012 09:35 PM

A930Rocket 01-05-2012 10:16 PM

Really sad?? That guy should be out buying lottery tickets and dancing on bar tops like Paris Hilton. Maybe take a driving course or two as well.

pavulon 01-06-2012 06:26 AM

Thanks rouxroux. Fixed it. I was so busy fixing the links that I typoed the model.

No brunt force frontal impact The right rear took the most punishment. It broke most of the suspension links and the wheel bearing carrier on that corner. The axle got shoved into the side of the transaxle so hard that it broke the transmission housing. The front lower control arm is also broken.

VincentVega 01-06-2012 06:50 AM

So what's left. Engine, case ok? Intercooler?

Sad

I am GUESSING because there was no direct FORWARD impact..arent the sensors for the steering wheel bag in the front bumper area?

speeder 01-06-2012 07:37 AM

What's the short version of the accident story?

Joeaksa 01-06-2012 08:43 AM

Sad to see...

nostatic 01-06-2012 09:20 AM

Short of having it stall on railroad tracks, I can't imagine a scenario that has any kind of lawful activity involved unless it was at the track.

Anywhere you can roll a car would result in damage like that. Spin. Hit curb. Slide down embankment. Soft roll.

It may not even have required a high rate of speed. Lift throttle oversteer?

But I agree, it looks like track damage. Which would suck worse as it may not have been covered by insurance :(

rsrfan 01-06-2012 09:35 AM

The owner posts on rennlist and stated that the crash was caused by a highway avoidance move wherein the right rear clipped the wall and the rear tire dug in resulting in the roll. Damn shame as it was a very nice car and there are only so many Andial cars left...
