Am I finaly famous?

I found this by accident, just googling around.
1960'S DANCE HALL FLYERS - Sunset Beach Surf Shop

My band the Rhythm Crusaders played around Orange County ca. Back in the early sixties and I had pretty much forgotten about most of it I am even having a
hard time remembering all the band members names. It is amazing these old posters survived.
The big question is-
Do I start planing a big reunion tour.
Do I get out my old leather pants { but like our old friend Ross Geller I suspect I will only get the pants half on}
Is this my .01% of my 15 minuets of fame.
Will my 80% hearing loss affect my ability to perform up to the current standards.
I can't remember where I put my guitar.

Jerry

You had leather pants in the 60's? If I was there, I would have been in my cords.

Hey, the Chantays had a record or 2, did you cut some records?

We made an album although not under the name Rhythm Crusaders. We were hired fill out an album that the producer only had a few Dick Dale cuts to use. We provided the rest of the music and the producer named us "The Hollywood Surfers" on the album.

We did a couple of Battle of the bands with the Chantays, this was before they had a hit song. They were a bunch of high schoolers at the time and barely had 10 songs on thier set list. The producer of the show gave them an hour for their set and they had to give most of that to us.
I really didn't have leather pants. We wore black slacks at the time.

Rythmn crusaders?

Just think if you had called yourself "Twat City" or something else that was alittle bit edgier...you'd be an ageing rock star today.

It's always those small bad choices that de-rail us....

Ohhh Geezus another Band better off forgotten! It lives on better in memory than actual fact, if one were to resurrect the Band the reality of why it never took off would become readily apparent.

I used to go to all the spots, including the Rendezvous in Balboa every weekend to see the "fastest left handed guitar player" Dick Dale, did you ever play there, if so I saw you, but I can't remember.

I played at the Rendezous a few times with a band called the Hustlers after Dick Dale left there. In spite of what a lot of teenagers thought of Dick Dale most of the guitar players around town thought he was a hack with no talent or skill. I'm not sure he has gotten any better.

'Cause they can't beat his tremelo picking, that's why! Dick still tears it up. His son is quite good, too.

NAMM show, maybe '07.

Saw Dick Dale warm up and sound check about 10 years ago. He looked just like that and he can still wail.
