Uk - vat ???

I work for a US company and we are selling product to a UK company, which then will mark it up and sell to a France customer. We ship the product to France. Question is what VAT to charge .. UK or France?

Hoping someone can shed some light...

Thanks

France

Since it is re-exported, the VAT either doesn't happen in the UK or it is refunded.

Our company is sending the product directly to France on behalf of the UK company, so the product never touches UK soil... So I do not understand the reexporting

OK, then there is no VAT until France. The importer should be taking care of the VAT. I export to Mexico and the VAT (IVA in Mexico) is taken care of by the importer.

You pay neither VAT. As mentioned VAT is payed by the importer not the exporter.

Do you pay FET on your products?

Excise Tax

My VAT question revolves around our sales invoice to the UK customer....should I charge any VAT? And if so, for what country?

The sale occured in the USA. You charge no VAT.

The importer pays the VAT when they import the goods.
