I think they are both sort of cool and will sell.
That being said, I think that the manufacturers are finally listening to what buyers want and not what they WANT people to buy. |
I would not buy either one. If I was going to buy American, I would likely buy a Ford Focus. At least there is some excitement to driving that.

I would not be in the market for either one but I like the styling of the 140 better. That being said, it will probably lose most of that when its goes to production and end up looking like the current Mitsubishi eclipse. The 130 looks more like a production car in the pictures.

I like the look of the 140, and I'm surprised to hear myself say that in relation to a GM product. Not for any political reasons, but because GM, IMO, has made the absolute worst cars available over the last decade, with the singular except of the 6th generation Corvette.
Interestingly, the Corvette styling borrowed heavily from (ahem, ripped off) Ferrari, and as has been stated, this 140 seems to borrow from Lamborghini. That said, it's a concept car, and like anything else, the final production car will be a watered down version which will likely be very bland. And +a million to what Scott R said about the Malibu. I can't understand for the life of me how that sells and who buys it, aside from rental fleets. What a boring, bland, boring, ugly, boring POS. |
Prefer the 140.
The hatchbacks are beginning to gain favor again. Back "in the day" the hatchback and hot-hatchback markets were worth fighting over and then everything got in a family way with 4 doors, uninspired profiles, and standard trunks. Hyundai Veloster is interesting (not a huge fan of the brand, but th concept is cool). The volvo C30 is a really neat car, but a decidedly niche market. The 5 door focus and fiesta both have decent styling, in fact I think the new focus 5-door is very attractive. The 5-door subaru is smokin' hot. Time for some interesting two door hatches. Bring 'em on. angela |
I'm not too crazy about either one, but as far as GM products go, I would like to try the Cadillac ATS. Also, as a Volvo fan, the C30 piques my interest.
