Choose one

GM is apparently trying to decide between these two cars. They say they will pick one to produce. I like the 130R. It looks like a small sized Camaro which would be fun to modify, but not a fan of the front grill. The Tru140S has the appearance of a miniature Lambo.

As it is reported, the cars are to get 40mpg and are rated a 150hp. The 150 hp is a bit anemic for my liking. At 20K, the upcoming BRZ may be a better deal. Push the "here" link for GM video and write. Overall, looks like GM is targeting the Scion buyer.

My 914/6 with the tired 2.2 could outpace a 225 hp Camaro. Of course my ~120hp 914/6 weighed about 2000 lbs, while the Camaro weighed close to 5000.

Choose one? As long as GM is "Government Motors", I won't consider either car.

Kind of a shame, since I wouldn't have minded buying a Corvette.

I would prefer the styling of the 140S with the rear wheel drive of the 130R. With a larger turbo and some tweeking I bet the 1.4L could turn out 180 - 190 HP easily.

It is too bad GM makes porky cars which need to be trimmed down weight wise by at least 20%.

Speedy nailed it on all points, and Paul reminds me of dog owners that don't clean up after their pets.

Too bad you weren't among the GM bond holders who got the shaft. In a normal corporate bankruptcy, bond holders are first in line. With the federal takeover, they got zilch...not one dime. The bonds became worthless.

Now who was it that didn't clean up after their pets? Sorry, I will never buy a GM product.

My, aren't you a clever puppy? Already paper trained...

The fact remains...when GM was nationalized, the bond holders got hosed.

Paul, you are an ass. Stephanie asked the car guys here a car question and you cannot help yourself but to crap all over her thread with your political bile. I guess you can't make it all the way over to PARF before you mess the floor. And we know your not a car guy, just some former early 911S / current Mustang drama queen. Don't have anything to offer in response to Stephanie's question, well, then STFU. Loser.

I like the 'Vette, I think its a great car, but I have to join several others in this thread, not buying a government motors car, not clicking on the link to even look at the two, I won't be buying, so why vote on something I wouldn't buy...

I'm not a fan of Mussolini or Hitler.

Cayenne was due for it's annual service on Tuesday, they gave me a 2012 Malibu for a loaner. If this particular car is a representation of the brand they will need another bailout soon.

Chevrolets........

The red car looks like an uglied up BMW 1 series. The silver car is just ugly...... no, make that fugly! I hope they build both of them. Maybe that would hurry up the day that Government Motors goes under for good!

Not a fan of either car, and not to get political but I am not about to buy anything domestic until they get rid of the UAW.
It is good to see that they are at least trying to get competitive in a market that they should have been in decades ago.
