Meh. You'd think they would at least detail the interior for that kind of money.

Well, at least everything in the engine bay is OEM from Ruf. Should help with the visual portion of the smog check, at least.

Remember, there are plenty of vintage Mustangs that fetch this kind of money too

I answered your question in the other thread...

"Prior to the construction of this CTR, the owner purchased a '71 T Targa out of the South FL area and shipped it to Ruf. Since Ruf is recognized as a manufacturer, Ruf has the ability to rebody a car and transfer the VIN from old shell to new.

This was done to be able to "re-import" the car to the states and avoid any DOT or EPA issues.

The only thing that the donor car gave up was its VIN and paper. This car was absolutely, positively a NEW Ruf build from the '89 shell outward..."

I don't think that line was referring to a car...

I find that to be a lot of money for what is basically a souped up Turbo 911 with a 71 T Targa vin slapped on a 89 coupe shell with a Ruf badge.

And in the end, most people who buy it won't have the place where they can get it to the high speeds it was built for,
IF at all they have the balls to do that with such an expensive, yet old piece of machinery..
Never mind the driving capabilities to actually use that car to it's potential without crashing it.

And if at all they do dare all those things, it's still slower then a GT2 which goes for less money and offers more drivability..

So what is it really: a rare tuner car that is to expensive to actually drive?

I really, really don't see the high added value there

For 279000 USD you can find original Porsches (and a lot more other brand cars) that are probably a lot rarer or have some actual history / racing pedigree..
or other cars that aren't as rare, but do the same and don't come with the worry of driving it >>>>> more FUN...

I'm just saying..
