trying to reach Kaisen about cars

Hello,
Sorry to start a thread but Ive tried catching him in other thread (and of course by pm). He stated that he doesn't look at his PMs often.

I am lead to believe that he helps people find cars. I am in the market for one. I thought it would be easier to start a thread as I'm sure others might have an interest.

Im interested in a used smaller SUV. Im kind of leaning toward a Dodge Nitro. Any thoughts or ideas on a reliable small/mid-sized SUVs would be appreciated. Im in the $10 to 15 grand range.

I own a 2 door blazer, had it for about 11yrs. Its got 246,000 and its getting kind of long in the tooth. I have plenty of cars to play with. I'm just looking for a every day car.

Bryan

I think sometimes he get a bit strained trying to cover all his workload, and helping pelicans on the side is one of the first things that has to go in a busy time.

Eric is GREAT. I am interested in buying a four door sedan in the future and he has given me a lot of great advice. He is a genuine car guy with a love of all things cars. Send him an e-mail and see how he is doing.

Have you driven a Dodge Nitro? You could do much better.

I have to say I like the looks of the Dodge Journey. Must have some room in it and on paper looks to get decent fuel economy. Never driven one but we would if we were replacing the smallish CRV.

Yes, I have driven a Nitro. It ain't < nor > any other small/ mid-sized SUV.

I have NEVER even considered going off road. I have owned Jeeps and I currently have a '71 Land Rover, so if the need arises, I would take that.

It would just be a car to get me from point a to b.

We can work out a fee that is not based on the actual cost of the car. I respect the mans time and I am willing to pay for it.

Simple utility, if you have never seen the inside of a "toaster" you would be amazed. These are no fun, appliances but if that is all you need then there ya go.

Awe hell stuff it full of stereo and black out the windows and have a ball. If I lived in a big city I would consider one, but the chances of either happening are slim to none.........slim just left town

I've had several Dodge Journeys for rental cars, they are up there with the Caliber as one of the worst cars that I've ever driven. Really terribly made and horrible to drive.

Funny, I posted a couple threads and responses yesterday just a little while before this thread was started, so I missed it until notaBRG emailed me this thread. I'm not here quite as often, and my PM box is usually full so I don't even check. If anyone needs to get in touch, just email me at *edit*

Anyway, Tobra's assumption that the price of a car has anything to do with my interest is wrong. It can be $3,000 or $103,000, it doesn't matter to me. But some types of cars 'fit' better with what I can bring to the table.

A late model Dodge Nitro is pretty easy, but also easy to find at local dealers. I'd be happy to give you all the data to negotiate a good deal on existing inventory in/around Chicago, or help you by buying one at the auctions in Chicago and you can pick it up directly.

Also consider the Jeep Liberty, which is *exactly* the same thing as a Dodge Nitro with different cosmetics. Of course, there are lots of other choices depending on your needs. I'd likely point the average-Joe to a car-based crossover/CUV, but if you want an affordable small rear-drive-based traditional transfer case capable 4x4, the Nitro and Liberty are in a class of their own.

Email me and we'll see what we can come up with...
