How do I get rich
 

I want a newer porsche. Those cost more than I can afford. Do I pretty much need to own my own business to get rich? What did you guys do to get rich?
I have very little capital. Plus I'm married with kids and my wife doesn't work.
I'm a numbers guy and credentialed. I do ok, but not for socal.
Thinking of starting my own company. I know how well those annuity wholesalers and reps do, I want a slice of that action. this needs to be something I can do outside of my regular job, at least while I get started.

Any of you rich dudes out there, please share your success stories and advice.

You need to produce more economic activity than you consume by a wide-enough gap to cover what you want to buy.

Just write a great novel that gets made into a hit movie or write and sing a top hit song.

Invent a neat gadget that everyone needs or wants.

Get real good at golf.

Fix it up for apts., condos or even an urban hotel.

You will make a LOT of $$

You'd think they would be smart enough to not let that happen...

For one thing you will have to stop thinking about Porsches.. if the goal is to be rich, you gotta focus about thinking about making money... not spending much money, not loosing money, making sure your money turns in to more money.. Basically you gotta be on the case 24/7 and work hard for a bunch of years..

Then at some point in the future, you might end up being rich enough to be able to pay for a Porsche out of pocket.. If you can't do it out of pocket, you are basically impatient and not rich enough to be called "rich".

law school followed directly by medical school and then an anesthesia residency--->turn expert witness. mo money, mo money, mo money.

I was in law school with an anesthesiologist who was there on disability....drawing $13K/mo because he was disabled due to drug addiction. L keed u not.

Go into Politics.

How To Get Rich

1. Pick something you absolutely love doing
2. Learn everything you can about it. Become an expert in it. Get to the point where you are contributing more to the body of knowledge than you take from it.
3. Be a frequent and active voice in your field. The idea is to build your brand.
4. Learn business ethics and be ruthless about adhering to it. People must trust your brand.
5. Do this thing for people, and give them more than they ask for. Be over the top with customer service - it's a dying art, and people are grateful for it.
6. Once people know your work ethic (or product), and associate it with your brand, you have set the stage to really grow.

I don't care what the product or service is. A guy that kicks ass washing peoples' nasty trash cans will do quite well.

With business, it's not the idea that makes the money - it's the implementation.

Easy. List out what you are willing to give up to get rich. The value of what you give up will roughly equal what you get.

Skip getting rich and learn how to steal cars so you can boost a new one at the dealer. (and then drive it like you stole it)

Invest in the sins alcohol, tobacco, prostitution, gambling (don't gamble invest in gambling) and last but not least invest in death. Yep, open a mortuary, embalming business or crematory. Everybody gotta die sometime.

That will really help. You basically have two options;

1. Go horribly into debt.

2. Be patient.

First problem is that you don't think like rich folks do...rich folks wnat the money and not the Porsche..Porsche is OVERHEAD EXPENSE...

You got a day job, now you need a part-time business where your wife can contribute. Something you like that can make you some dinero..that you can save (low overhead expense). YOu will need to put in a bunch of years living at the bone..to build up capital. Way below income level. Ten years ago I could have suggested where you could have put that capital, but now...everything is a role of the dice...

All in all I think Big Cap stocks that pay healthy dividends along with Google and Apple are still good bets. Perhaps rental property
