No leash, I taze you, bro

This National Park land is right behind my house, and I've been walking my dog on it off leash for years. Poor Teddy won't like being leashed.

I've said this in the past. There's far too many law inforcement officers that are too willing to zap someone.

I feel that if they use a tazer that it should cost them $500 if they fire it off out of their own pocket. They should try everything else prior to tazing

at the least treat it as discharging a weapon and they go on unpaid leave pending investigation. it needs to be treated like a firearm.

Interesting how a private citizen witholding his name from a ranger is a tazing offense, but it is appropriate to shield a park employee's name from those who fund her paycheck.

Rules are Rules. Law enforcement people expect you to compile. I think this guy tried to brush the female officer off . So goes the consequences of his response. I know it sounds over top for having your dog off the leash. What if everyone did this even the a..hole with a crazy pitbull.

Obviously, a fleeing bad guy and major threat to society. What the **** ever happened to "good judgement", HOLY SHlT!

I live within the confines of the Adirondack Park, a state park with leash requirement and I'll be damned if my killer golden is ever going to be on a leash. Of course I'm friends with every LEO within 100 mile radius.

Good thing the ***** didn't get issued a side arm.

Strange how police are not as respected anymore in certain areas. It is actions such as these that erode the degraded relationship between the public and law enforcement. With events such as these making national headlines the technology that connects us all may be part of the equation due to the camera phone and internet I would imagine. In the city I live in it was announced by the police department that car theft, burglary, etc are no longer crimes that the police will respond to if called. One must make a trip to the police station to make a report. It is changes like these coupled with abuse of authority incidents that we all hear about so often now that have made many people lose the trust of the police in their city. In general I have no faith in law enforcement as a whole. That said three of my closest friends are police officers and I know the job is a tough one based on ride along trips and hearing all the stories so I feel I have a good understanding of both sides. Two of these friends are people who should be police due to their character and moral fortitude, the other one should not be in law enforcement. The police departments seem to be more divided than ever which reflects the trend in our society at large.

"Us against them" and a complete lack of personal accountability and accountability of organizations is destroying the fabric of our society.

had to rant a bit

Evidently reading comprehension isn't what it once was. the guy was NOT tazed for walking dogs off a leash.

he was tazed for failure to comply, resisting arrest, and fleeing from a LEO during an investigation. There are probably a couple other midemeanors you could throw in also.
If an officer asks for ID and you provide his or her a false name, it's a crime and you can be arested for that.
if an officer is giving you a ticket and you leave the scene without their persmission, you are committing a crime. The officer has authorization to use non-deadly force to prevent the suspect from fleeing the scheme of the crime.
IMO Only a total tard would try to walk away, but evidently some of you think otherwise.
Shiow of hands, who thinks it's acceptable for someone to just ignore a LEO and walk away when detained? Who thinks the LEO shouldn't be able to stop someone from doing that?
Trick question, that was actually an IQ test.

oh don't do that, we don't want to hear the truth, we want to live in our fantasy world!
We want to pretend that it's perfectly OK for everyone to ignore law enforcement officers, to not obey commands, to not stop for them, to tell them to go to hell when they try to do their job.
We like to pretend that if people don't have to comply with law enforcement officers, crime won't go through the roof. Everuthnig will be fine, anarchy is great!

but most of all we hate law enforcement officers because we're afraid we'll get busted eventually because we are not law abiding citizens and are not grown up enough to behave.

What a travesty and waste of a good tazer. Any ranger worth their salt would have tazed one of the dogs, that would have made him stay put.

My dog was a disaster in the off leash area knocking people over. In normal areas I put her on her leash. Rules are rules folks. Do you want to get sued for your dog hurting somebody when your dog is supposed to be on a leash? You may live in a free country but rules are still needed. It is so much easier to follow the rules.
