$575 for shocks on my F-150?
Shop says its going to be $575 to put shocks all around on my 2000 F-150. Replacements will be Monroe. Seems steep.

You can get Bilsteins for less at Shox.com.
They should probably last the rest of the life of the truck under normal conditions. The Monroes ... probably not. (was going to link but didn't know if your truck was 2wd or 4wd)

$575? I wish. The rear Ohlins for my bike was $1200.

Was quoted $1,250 for struts from a dealer for our commuter car - a '99 Camry V6. Bought the shox and a spring compressor. Did it myself for $350.
A lot of labor changing springs. Had to remove rear seat & shelf, but figured I made a pretty good wage that day.

You can do shocks on most trucks in an hour with simple tools, and that's stopping to drink beer. Buy Bilsteins, DIY, save money.

Labor is pretty straightforward
My cost on Ford (that's *Ford* factory, from a Ford dealer) shocks are $39-49 each I can get Monroes for $24-45 Sounds like you're getting a retail-plus estimate, unless there's more than you realize

Shocks are easy, do it yourself if simple upper and lower bolts.
Depends on how you use your truck, but Monroes or even basic Rancho 5000s are cheap crap that ride horrible.. Spring for the Rancho 9000's, and they have a side can click adjust knob so you can easily tune the dampening stiffness whether your truck is loaded or unloaded. only $75 each. Rancho RS9000XL Shocks, LOWEST PRICES on Rancho RS9000XL Shocks My dodge ram goes from running empty, to carrying a 4500 pound truck camper.........I really enjoy being able to instantly tune the shock dampening whether towing a trailer or.........

the fronts on my tacoma are not that easy. i hate when you need to compress springs.
i have a buddy with a wall mounted spring compressor. he lives far, but it is worth the DIY.
