Les Paul perfected the solid body electric guitar.

His patents on recording technology are not as well known but are just as if not a more important contribution.

Wow, the guy invented the electric guitar and flew WWI sorties! Way to go Cap'n Eddie!!!

Well shoot, if everyone is going to brag about thier guitar I might as well get in on the act.

I just saw that you are using one of those vulcanized fiber Gibson headstock veneers. I did the same on mine. Block sand it with 600, then keep laying coats of lacquer. It will turn black eventually.

looks similar to what Tobias did to my #1 thunderbird.

I believe WW1 Ace Eddie Rickenbacker was a 1st cousin of the Rickenbacker family who started (and still runs) the Rickenbacker Guitar Co in Santa Ana, CA.

The Rickenbacker guitar company was sold in 1953 to F.C. Hall a partner in Fender Sales with Leo Fender along with a couple of other guys. Leo considered this a treasonous act and along with the fact that Leo never did like Hall anyway led way to Leo and the other guys to push Hall out of the partnership paying him very little for his 25% of the sales company. The Hall family still owns and operates the Rickenbacker company today.

I see that it went for 110K. The Pawn shop paid 90K for it. Tidy profit.
