Sounds interesting.

Downloading it all from iTunes as I type this. I've gotten every album the day it came out since Women and Children First.

Please report back your thoughts on the album after you have listened to it.

I need to give it a lot of listens. I'm the biggest Rush fan there is and it took a year for me to stop hating their last album, let alone start liking it.

I'm a few tunes into the new VH album. First impressions are - super, powerful vibe, Eddie definitely still has it....but.... too many overdubs. No way to pull that stuff off live.

This is off the Gene Simmons Demo.

Looks like a lot of it is just old club days stuff.

I'm used to VH albums being a snoozer thanks to Hagar. There are a lot of good tracks on this one....

Still crankin it.

Unfortunately DLR sounds really rough when he sings high. I actually like it when he's down in a lower register but the classic VH vocal screams are almost unlistenable imho.

That is based on the tune posted at the beginning.

Some guys/bands age elegantly and find a way to make their shortcomings work. imho metal/hard rock doesn't lend itself to that kind of aging. About the only guy who I think pulls it off is Lemmy.

I knew that album cover looked familliar,...

I like it--takes a couple listens, and don't care much for "tatoo", but otherwise, good.

Already have my tickets for the 3/30 show in Pittsburgh

I just ordered the CD. I am a computer geek but a physical CD that I can rip the way I want and put on all my devices makes too much sense to me.

i love you :D

motorhead = my favorite band

i will say, their new DVD reveals to me at least, that their days are numbered. Lemmy seems to really struggle with his vocal power. As a smoker, i can hear his lung damage. it saddens me. Instrumentally, they are still the most powerful rock and roll band on the planet

I'm so confused.....

ramonesfreak 02-08-2012 07:04 AM

what are you confused about

kaisen 02-08-2012 07:06 AM

With a name like ramonesfreak.... well, you know...

ramonesfreak 02-08-2012 07:11 AM

i have two obsessions. motorhead and the ramones. motorhead takes the no. 1 spot though, for number of outstanding songs and length of career and plain old rock and roll spirit

their not being in the RnR hall of fame is a real head scratcher to me

kaisen 02-08-2012 07:20 AM

A buddy of mine in LA has worked with Lemmy and says he's the funniest guy you'll ever meet. He's got a video of Lemmy cutting some back-up vocals in his studio, continually making faces and cracking everyone up. It's evident that Lemmy lives for rock n' roll in the most genuine way.

ramonesfreak 02-08-2012 07:42 AM

awsome. i would cut off my legs with a swiss army knife to be able to work with lemmy
