A guy down the street had a split window rotting in the back yard... his mailbox was stuffed with offers to buy... I wanted to make an offer but know I don't have the time or money to do a proper restoration.

It is no longer there and I hope someone is giving it a lot of TLC.

The entry price for the C2 club has gotten crazy. How about $19.9K for this '63 convertible creampuff?

While I do like Ferrari, Ducati, Lamborghini, etc....I think Americans have made some beautiful machines, both past and present.

I have never owned a GM product, and my family were 100% Ford drivers. But I think the new Camero is one of the finer looking American made cars in quite some time. The new Mustang is no slouch either.

Scottmandue, agree completely on the Corvette and the Cadillac. Both cars that I truly love. If anyone has been noticing, I've voiced plenty of disgust for recent Cadillacs and Corvettes but the '60s-older cars were a different story. I was just thinking about C2 'vette Stingrays today. If I was loaded, I would have one for sure. A 1965 327/375HP roadster would be my first choice.

And early '50s/late '40s Cadillacs are also very high on my list. John Walker in Seattle likes these cars, too. My car obsession takes many avenues, like most real enthusiasts here and elsewhere.

Italians do understand style and beauty. It's not exclusive to them, of course, but it's in their DNA. Clothes, vehicles, architecture, eye glasses...you name it. And it goes back many centuries, judging by their contribution to art in the history of the modern world.

I have some good friends who are an American family that were all raised in Italy and bop back and forth every summer. A few still live there or have moved back. It's just a very special place and culture on this planet.
