Yet Another Reason To Bash Kalifornia..
LA County OKs $1,000 Fine For Throwing Football, Frisbee On Beaches « CBS Los Angeles
"The Board of Supervisors this week agreed to raise fines to up to $1,000 for anyone who throws a football or a Frisbee on any beach in Los Angeles County... ........your kids could also end up costing you big bucks: the ordinance also prohibits digging any hole deeper than 18 inches into the sand except where permission is granted for film and TV production services only." Man, first they're worried about porn actors wearing condoms, now this. These people are out of control... |
Sorry, maybe should have posted in PARF. Mods, please move in case it gets ugly...
LOL! Time to bring out the softballs and bats...
Agreed...big brother is here. |
Ibtp
There's already a thread on this in PARF...
I saw that on the news this morning.
So I risk a thousand dollar fine for taking my kid down to the beach and teaching her" the stretched out catch into the surf of a perfectlyt thrown Frisbee"??? Wow all those times growing up I never even hit anyone with anything on a beach Civil disobiedience |
No frisbee or footballs, what a bunch of hooey.
We drive on the beaches here in TX. When the beaches emptied late in the day in the summer, making a figure 8 track from trash barrels in the sand was some of the most fun I have ever had, ever. |
It is the STUPIDEST thing I have ever heard. Having lived in many beach communities in my life I can say that LA County is the definition of lame.
Not that I agree with the above (stupid) legislation, but speeder had a good point in the PPOT thread about this topic. When you have a packed summertime beach, the last thing you need are a bunch of semi-drunk idiots (always guys, no less) playing full contact football next to you and your kids. Legislation like this is partially passed because there are too many idiots out there who don't have the common sense to understand that there's a time and place for everything. Wasn't there some guy shot (and killed?) in the Rose Bowl parking lot during pre-game at a USC-UCLA football game a couple years back because there arose a dispute between some guys throwing a football too close to his BMW?
Stupid semi drunk guys do not need an excuse to fight. They will find one regardless. I
Like most new laws, the problem is already covered under existing legislation.
A group of rowdy, drunk guys playing full-tackle football too close to your family? Charge them with public intoxication, disorderly conduct, or other such general-purpose charges. We all know someone is going to eventually spend the night in jail for tossing a toy football with their toddler. |
How about Trac Ball? Fer chrissake, if you can't play Trac Ball at the beach (or that thing with the round velcro sticky pads strapped to your palm and tennis ball), where else are you gonna play that?
The American way of life is being flushed down the crapper via ever increasing regulation.
More laws and signs that only the people they were meant for will ignore.
You mean 'raise' fines up to $1000? Already a law? I can't 'throw' my balls anyways. LOL
why not just Taze them?
Los Angeles and San Francisco, bastions of liberal lifestyle in this state. I can't wait til they fall into the ocean.
Then I suppose fair is fair. No volleyballs. Next time they play, I'm calling the cops.
Or maybe I'll throw one long and deep, a volleyball. |
