It's funny. The only car that was ever really on my "bucket list" was an early 911, long wheelbase, long hood.

There are other cars that I sometimes think about, McLaren F1, Espada, Lotus 7, but there is no real desire to possess one or drive it. I think this is partly because of the reality of roads around here. Meaning: even with a lottery win they would not appear in my garage.

A Lotus 7 would soon lead to crushed vertebrae with the frost heaved roads that I have fun on. I felt guilty running the 924S up to a speed where it felt happy, what the heck would one do with a F1 or an Espada? The old 911, with relatively skinny wheels and tires and stock suspension travel was a car for the (my) real world.

I'm a happy man.

Three letters... NSX.

I'd also like to get back into Porsches at some point, but it'd have to be one new enough to have plastics and a dash that were made with decent quality. Something which they did not yet have a grasp on when my '87 924S was made.

Great thread. In no particular order and I'm sure I'm going to miss some. To be clear, this is not a bucket list, but would be if I was born rich instead of good looking. Or if I was Jay Leno or Jerry Seinfeld.

Primary attainable bucket list:

1. Have this car fully functional and well finished:

2. Road trip from Colorado throughout the Pacific Northwest with my wife, in said car.

3. Another derivation of #2 with my son as passenger / co-pilot.

Likely unattainable bucket list:

VERY unattainable bucket list (I'd even take a GOOD fake one):

Since I'll never be able to afford a "real" Shelby Cobra, I went ahead and bought the next best thing.....a CSX 4000 series Cobra from Shelby. I can check this one off my list as soon as I find a 427 Side Oiler block.

Forgot one!

1959 Cadillac. Massive tail fins, as long as a school bus, and won't fit in my garage. One of maybe 3 american cars that I actually love (the others being early Mustangs and C1 Corvettes).

Square tube roller or V8 car complete.

Anyone know of one collecting dust in a garage, roller or V8 complete car?
PM me please.

I want to have one of those cars where we you stomp on the gas, you can watch the gas needle move. And a truck of gas to power it.

Many of you dream bigger than me. Some nice stuff in this thread.

Bucket List

I've been thinking about an MG TF 1500 for awhile. I had one MGA, two AH 100's, & a TR3 years ago, and I kind of miss the small, open, rattly, raw sports car from that time. Some other cars would be nice - Cobra (real or kit), 550 kit, but I think it would be nice to have a TF1500 to just cruise around in once in a while.

But for reasons that I don't really understand, I don't have a desire to own them anymore. All of those high priced, high maintenance cars above - would love to see them at a car show, or driving down the road. Would love if my neighbor had some of them! But don't want them in my garage, don't have any desire to own them.
Have to say that this accurately describes me, too. Don't know why, but my passion for cars in general has definitely faded. I appreciate really nice cars, but just don't have a strong desire to own one right now. If I had a five car garage at my disposal, you can bet I'd have no problem filling it up. At the moment I'm frightenly content with my Mazda.

I owned one of these in the same color, from the early '60's to the early '70's for about ten years. It was the most fun at the slowest speed that I've ever had in an automobile!!

I would be happy with a Lancia Stratos, real or replica.

Would like to find a Glenn Pray Auburn Speedster in blue and silver though.

And one of these converted to an RV.
