It is amazing how time flies & it looks like there are a few old timers coming out of the woodwork on this thread. I stumbled onto this place by accident back when I had my '67 912 and my '72 911E. I lurked for awhile & finally joined. It's been well worth it.

I joined in July of 2005. Thats when I bought my Carrera from Moazam and went nuts with it.

I joined in June 2002, a week or so after buying my '74 911.

Joined a year before I bought my 911.

Several helpful members helped me long-distance shop - emails, phone calls, etc.

Bought my 73 from North Carolina. Dtw climbed all over/under/around and took about 100 pictures of the car so I could see what was there before I drove 500 miles. :)

Relative newbie. Jan 06. Discovered Pelican during revival of the 70 coupe. The Porsche fire was revived as well. On Pelican every day. Oh, billwagnon, dtw is a good guy. A Pelican find among others.

I got my 911 in Jul or Aug of 1999. For the first couple of years, I spent my time on the Rennlist email list (not the forums). I guess I came here about 2 years later in fall of '01. I spent a lot of time on the 911 Tech board. I sold the 911 in 2004, and slowly migrated to the OT side of things.

10 years in October. Got hooked on this site so my son and I could get his 87 944 on the road and keep it there. We loved the first one so much we bought our other son an 88 944.

Just for the hell of it I did a search for mine. There it was in the 914 forum March 28 1999.
I think that was within a day or two of buying my first computer.

How many of us were "Lurkers" for a few years before signing up? I was till I needed help with a problem.....Can't say enough about how helpful and patient fellow Pelicans were (and still are)!

I was on the Porsche Talk site from Potomac in 97 for a couple years. Had a Porschelist number that was real low but cant find my old name there now so I re-joined. Pretty sure I remember you Bill from Potomac.

Lurked for a couple of years here before becoming active in 2007. Before joining, many of Joe Bob's posts frightened me.

Originally under another name around 2000 changed computers in 2003. My son was sitting there with his new Les Paul he had recently gotten for xmas. Saying Les Paul, Les Paul sweet Les Paul. Ah ha that's it. My new tag.

says 2002 by my name ....seems longer than that.

March 2003. I did some lurking after I discovered that Porsches could be semi-affordable, then ended up purchasing a 1970 911T for a DD against the better advice of the technical forum. The knowledge I've gained on the tech forums has been invaluable, and probably saved me thousands over the years. As for OT, you bastards just waste my time......... :D

Don't worry young grasshopper, I've got enough coming up in the next year that you will have a chance to catch up... ;)


Seriously, I picked up a respectable online course load to go with whatever my internship duties will be. I'm just hoping now that I will be pulling more 40/hr weeks than 80s....

joined a few months after buying my first car, a '76 911. Had I lurked or joined first that probably wouldn't have been the first car...

I joined last year after purchasing my 2001 Boxster. I have been reminded a couple of times that I am a newbie but I am in denial(hey, I am in my 60's). Thanks for letting me air my views:)

Your stats page tells you the post count per day... Mine is nearing 11 last I check....

wow! two more months and I will be a ten year member!

I just hit 10 years not too long ago.

I joined AFTER buying an 86 911 with worn valve guides DOH.

I left the marque for a few short years (WRX), but couldnt stay away. Now that I am newly single for the first time in 17 years, I am looking forward to maybe some DE's with the turbo.
