Bianchis' ought to be celeste.
I believe anything else is an opportunity lost.

All Gios should be blue and Benotto light grayish gold color. Candy apple red for Colnago ( I really don't like that color, if that matters)

My Bianchi is white. Boy, did I blow it!
It is, however, the only italian vehicle with "paddle shifters" I've ever owned. The Bianchi hasn't seen much use lately. Been doing more off-roading on the Cannondale. |

I bought a Bianchi Celeste Green frame recently. Going to build it up when I have a chance.

Not vintage but it does have that classic Celeste Bianchi look and it's steel. It's a Bianchi Eros.
My classic and vintage steel bike is a Ciocc. |

My next bike will be a celeste steel frame bianchi built into a cross bike. I just got my rockhopper back up and running and am enjoying cycling again, but I've always had a wandering for a cross better with class.

Just saw a vintage Bianchi last weekend. That does bring back some memories of Lengano. I still have my 70's Nishiki.

Reparto Corsa track bike. Celeste of course. No longer race it but it's a keeper.

I wanted a Ciocc so badly after I crash my Gios in a race. Instead I come across a smoking deal on a Italian tri-color Motta. Every pennies count when you are a bike bum at the age of 20. Are you collecting these older Italian frames? I purahcsed a Ridley Damocles with Sram. I have yet to put it together due to my crazy schedule. I might have told you that before. I can't remember things anymore. It must be old age.

I guess you can say I'm a collector. I have a Ciocc, the beautiful Bianchi, '80s Nishiki, a '90s Specialized Allez and an '80s flourescent green Giant Iguana hardtail - all steel. Only the Ciocc, Allez and Giant are rideable. Once I get that celeste road worthy though, it'll turn heads. IMO, green Bianchis are works of art even if they are Italian on the cheap.

Yes, celeste green Bianchis are works of art.
Steel is real. Plus, I'm a clydesdale (over 200lb) and I remember when carbon bikes first came out, there were reports of frames cracking under heavy bottoms like mine. I'm sure they're built better now but I still like steel, esp celeste green like the one below. ![]() |

One thing about carbon, once you have ridden it, you can't go back. I have two steel bikes but almost never ride them any longer. A Casati fitted with full Campy Super Record race trim just like the day it was retired from service back in the late 80s. A LeMond that I ride a couple of times a year. I like to ride my Torelli alum./carbon all the time. I like the stiffness of the frame for the get up and go. A trek OCLV that just will not die. Both are with DA 9 speed that I really like. There's a certain feel or feed back from carbon frames that I really like. |
