To bad the tracks and cars aren't what they used to be. The talent is there (it always will be...) but the cars, the locale, and the spirit just aren't fun to watch anymore.

I hear you Mike.......
I think the problem, which will never be solved is that the cars are just so damn good nowadays. Failures are rare, reliability is high, aerodynamics are so advanced that overtaking is extremely difficult, hence the DRS zones. As to the track design, on this point I feel that F1 is losing it's way, although a few of the new ones aren't so bad. But the shear cost of business in F1 has led us to no race in France, Spa seems to be on and off, always in doubt as to its future - which is crazy as many believe this to be one of the best tracks in the circuit. I'm all in favour of bringing back full pit stops for fuel and tyres and returning to a manual gearbox, but this will never happen as far as I can see. I love the technology though, so it's always a balance to say to one's self that there should be no restraints, but on the other hand when the technology becomes so good that the cars are almost glued to the track, I think to myself that changes like the DRS, however artificial are the way to go. The funny thing is, can you imagine saying that back in the early '80's (when I started watching), I know I can't! So I look forward to an interesting season, there is incredible talent in the cars and with luck no one team will run away with it from the start.
