Yeah, i saw that. But heres the deal. In aviation, no matter what kind of experience you have, if you are a new hire, you start at the bottom. In this case, the EMB at @ $35K a year. Upgrading to CPT will take at least 10 years minimum. Once you get past that, its not too bad, but its too cold in Canada.. lol..

Been there (3 years of furlough) - it sucks, but you might find it is an opportunity. If you plan to stay in flying you might listen carefully to Joe. If I had it to do all over again my second 'airline' would have been corporate flying. Commercial isn't what it used to be - or even what it should be.
Wish you the best. Jim |
i left the airlines a few years ago and am now at a fractional, which is like coporate flying on steriods.. lol. but yes, im looking more towards part 91 stuff now..

Some of the companies here wait 2weeks to test, because then they get 2weeks of work out of them....

Sorry to hear about this....

Well it finally happened. After watching the seniority list shrinking and the bottom getting closer, I got my official walking papers a few weeks ago. (thirty day notice)
That being said, I am fortunate that I had a few months to find something and I'm happy to report I start my new job tomorrow! I couldnt be luckier.. I got my furlough phone call on Friday, and by chance had an interview and got hired on the following Monday and when I got home I had the official furlough letter from FedEx at the door. So on the same day I had both the furlough letter and the offer of employment letter in my hands!!! The stars aligned for me for once! :) |
Glad to hear! Hope it is a good move for you.
|
Glad to hear that!
|
Congrats! Sometimes things just work out.
|
Still going to be flying Marc?
|
Great news I hope your new job is better than the last
|
That's fantastic! Great to hear, tell us about the new job when you can.

That happened to me once too. I had just gotten a better offer, was driving to work, planning to give my notice and heard on the radio that our main supplier had just folded. As soon as I walked in the door, boss said, "We have to let you go."
I said, "No prob. Do you want me to stay for the day or can I go home now?" He was kind of surprised. |
You are one lucky guy! I wish lots of other stories like that turned out so well.
|
Great news.
I hope everyone who gets the bad news recovers so quickly. Took me a lot longer than I planned on and am making peanuts for now. :( |
