No doubt he's coming over to play with his buddy, TK. But wow, what a step down. I never did like him post-Ferrari. Too much whining about being Michael's inferior team mate.

He's been sniffing around for more than a month. The car has been there for him all along. He just needed to bring in the money. That totally sucks to me.
I don't think Nigel Mansel had to bring money, but what do I know. I'd like to see him flat kick butt. However KV Racing is not the best team. What happened to Bourdais running for a 2nd rate team is likely to be the same for RB. Still, he's one I will look for in the pits. |

Does the indy car have room for his walker?

Either its out of the owners pocket, a sponsor the driver brought, a sponsor the team found for the driver, or the drivers pocket, but to race, someone has to bring in the money, and in these days of driver oriented oval racing, its often a sponsor finding a driver they want to represent them - so a driver has to come in with sponsor money, as it may be harder for a team to find it, while paying all team expenses.

I think its a good thing for Indy car to have a high profile driver like Rubens, it might just be the start of open wheel popularity returning to north america

I'm sure Rubens doesn't need a paycheck at this point in his life. He's no doubt doing this because he likes to drive and he likes to compete. Although some would consider this a step down from F1, it's still a challenge to drive one of these cars and Rubens will probably enjoy the lack of the bull**** any driver deals with in F1, and no doubt he'll enjoy the attention from the media and the fans. It wouldn't surprise me if he ends up liking racing in the US more than his post-Ferrari career in F1. If the team can put a decent car under him, I think he'll do well. He's a lot more talented than his results would indicate. He also seems like a decent guy. I ran into him at an airport following an F1 race a while back and he was quite happy to spend a little time with my son, which made his day.
Cheers, JR |

It would be cool if he had the same sort of success that his countryman Emerson Fittipaldi had! Rubens would look good on the Borg-Warner Trophy!
