"DRIVE" the movie, don't waste your time
What a huuuuge POS this was. Redboxed this tonight and was glad it was only $1.00.
Ryan Gosling is a pretty smooth actor but this was NOT a good movie for him.

No prob Cliff.
Plus, they TOTALLY rip off the "Bullitt" Mustang/Charger chase scene and it sucks. You JUST don't do that to a classic. ![]()

I actually had the misfortune of seeing Drive in the movie theater. And paying $10+ for a seat. Good for gore, not so much for entertainment. The most interesting part was trying to see if I could identify the locations where they shot the movie. Reminded me why I only let the wife drag me out to the movies 2 or 3 times per year.

I was glad that I only Redboxed it too... Not sure why it is so highly rated, I must not be smart enough to understand it... J/k

I really liked the soundtrack.
I think the gore in a few of the scenes were a bit much and can take you out of the movie. This is one of the movies you go and see in the theatre. It's odd everyone I've talked to either loved or hated the film. The director doesn't drive, he has no license. And instead of "Action" before a take he yells "let's f**k!" strange cosmos..

Put me in the "like" column. I will agree that the mustang chase scene was a little weak. Would have loved more scenes like the opening sequence, but that would have probably been too obvious.
I thought it was well done, though I tend to like movies with long, uncomfortable pauses of dialog. ![]() |

It was OK. They should have had more "jobs" for Gosling so it was more entertaining.
I wouldn't recommend it to anybody.

I didn't much like it either, nor did I like "Tree of Life" or " Meeks Cutoff". I did like "The Way" about the hike through France and Spain. (Camino de Santiago I think)
An acquaintance died there a couple of years ago so it gave a perspective of the area which we didn't know much about. Martin Sheen stars in it. "Martha, Macy Mae ???" was pretty good also. |

Well, I only did that (to myself) because the rest of the movie was so frickin' boring.
