Heeeeelllllppppp mmmmeeee

So I started redoing the interior. Got it all ripped out. Got the cleanup done. Parts arrived.

And then I changed jobs. And the new employer threw me in the deep end of the pool. 2 weeks in and I haven't stopped. First week travelled across the US. Week 2 in Europe. Here this week and on the road again next week.

I am in series withdrawal. I haven't heard the engine fire up since January. It is the most bizarre feeling.

I got home and just stood in the garage staring at everything that has to get done before I can get her back on the road and I almost had a panic attack.

Ok, I'm done venting. Thanks for listening.

Deep breath. I will get done. I will get her back on the road. I will be flying down the road enjoying the Spring weather. It will be done. Focus. Focus. Focus.

I understand. I'm sending mine in for paint soon and i'm dreading looking at the empty spot in the garage.

As long as you still have the dash and pedals in place, bolt the drivers seat back in and get your fix. I drove my car for a few months prior to painting with no interior apart from the dash and the seats. It was great fun.

I was going to say exactly this. Dash, wheel, pedals, driver's seat. DRIVE!

No windows and no pedal cluster at the moment.

Ok. I'm getting stuff done this weekend!

You can't buy happiness, but you can buy car parts which is kind of the same thing.

I drove my car all last summer with just the driver's seat, steering wheel, and pedals - not even all the instruments. It was a giggle, because the car was light and peppy that way.

I am blessed with a great job and a great family, so please excuse me for whining about my 1st-world problems.

My Porsche hobby helps keep me sane. Something to do to get my mind off the problems of the day.

As much as I love working on the car it sure is great to drive it and I'm just jonesing for the feeling again. I was invited for a drive by a fellow Pelican the other day and I couldn't go out and play.

Still I'm going to have to get done soon. The wife is giving me the stink-eye because I've kicked her car out of the garage for temporary work space.

I made that mistake only once. Some engine work that was supposed to take a week a two after I removed it ended up taking 2 months. I heard about the "major" inconvience for about 6 weeks until I finished. I'm waiting to move to a new house before doing my next engine drop.
