I believe that TR-6's have a bunch of body flex. A buddy built a TR-6 with a buick v6. It was a frickin death trap. His words. He sold it ASAP after working on it for several years.

I suspect this is similar. While it looks cool. I would pass for $5000. Sorry to rain on the collective parade.

Larry

PS - At least it has brakes!

The TR6 has a separate steel chassis..it's not a monocoque. the frames were essentially the same from the TR2-TR6. (4A, 250 and 6 were IRS). Lots of guys do 302 conversions with these cars. whether or not you want that much hp in small car with iffy brakes is the main problem. structural rigidity is not.

I didn't initially read everything either. I finally read it last night when I got home.

I started by having the frame sand blasted then welded in a lot of additional steel at all the known and unknown weak spots including the TSI Rear Strengthening Kit and ¼” plate added atop the rear spring mounts. Every factory weld was ground and re-welded to insure zero issues with frame cracking, twist or degradation due to the added HP and suspension modifications. I also had a local race car fabricator custom make a 6-point roll cage that ties into the frame directly via the four body mounts in the cockpit and thru the rear bulkhead and down to the aft frame sections (clears the roof). This is probably the most torsionally stable Triumph Frame you’ll ever find and the driving changes it made are very obvious.

Crackpipe price. unique for certain.

Those cars chassis were not designed for much more than 100HP, no matter the brake or driveline upgrades.

I think it looks hotter than Georgia asphalt. Other than that, no idea if it's a POS or how much it's worth.

Exactly!

Absolutely beautiful! I love transplanted engines. I've had a Fiat X1/9 with a 13B rotary, a 550 replica spyder with a 3.2 flat six, and a Jaguar XJ6-L with a 300 horse SBC.

Diggin' this car!

TR-6 with 350

I had a 1976 Tr-6 that I transplanted a Chevy 350. Most fun you can have w/ your clothes on. Wish I still had it.

The chassis is really not stiff enough for that sort of torque and the brakes were nowhere adequate for that much speed/power.

I have one which is a '74. It too was a complete frame off restoration and had about the same amount of $$$ spent on it. I purchased it at "market" value.

I agree that the brakes and suspension would need substantial upgrades to handle the increased power. I admit I am very tempted to consider that one.

What is with not being able to post pictures?

Don't like the bumpers, roll cage or the speakers but the rest is pretty nice.

I keep thinking about this car...
