E39 love!

Wait a sec let me go into tapatalk....

Dammit Wayne! Allow full version of the site please.

Finally got the ///M wheels mounted after 4 or 5 years sitting around, and I love it! The BBS wheels were cool too but these 18" wheels and Contis are great!

Mine is Toledo blue, this is in Arizona on the way to the west coast for shipping to Hawaii. I found the car via ebay in St Louis. Ended up having a fantastic road trip, great way to get to know a new (to me)car.

It came with the original 17" alloy wheels also, which I put on with new P Zeros shortly after this pic.

Cheers Richard
Soukus, I should have listened to your suggestion about the tool for the race install, way better with the right tool! Thanks

I'm partially color blind, but dang Richard I think we have the same color! I think my is suppose to be called "oriental blue". It's a deep blue with a green tint....but remember I'm partially color blind and I'm viewing the pix on my iphone so they are about 2"x2"!

Your car looks great! Sorry you uad problems with those bearings...glad it's resolved.

I thought they looked similar also. but mine has a hint of purple in some light. Am in the process of installing new alt today hopefully.
These cars drive so well and are so comfortable, I just wish they weren't so complex electrically.

Mine has a hint of purple too! I never really know what color it is suppose to be. I also installed a new alternator a few weeks a go. Its not difficult. They designed the tensioners well! Good luck with it. Let me know if you need any tips.

No photos, but we've got an E39 Sportwagon. 130k miles and still going strong. Wonderful car, the best one we've ever owned.

The E39 is probably my favorite of all I've owned or own. I disagree with Richard on the electrical. I think its got just the right amount for a comfy sedan. It could be worst...like the current models from Germany.

I don't have NAV in mine and it's a 5 speed. Not much electrical that can leave me me on the side of the road...I just ignore some of the minor stuff if its not critical until I have time to fix it.

There's someone at our Denver Corp office with a sport wagon and it's been tastefully treated to make it more racey. It always catches my eyes when I'm visiting.

Hey Soukus, since you just did your Alt, I thought I would run this by you and anyone else that might see this thread. I just unpacked the new alt that i got from PP. It took a month to get here with mis written address. Any way the plastic shroud on the back of the alt is broken, probably broken in all the shipping back and forth.
My question is how realistic is it to take this shroud off the old alt and install on the new one?
Just thought I'd ask for info, I am working in a knowlege vacume here.

Thanks Richard

My neighbor has a 2001 M5, I have only two pictures, I liked his wheels but they won't fit my Z3 Coupe. He has 60k miles on it. I will get another shot of it tomorrow.
