damn kids

Just moments ago I was sitting here at work, my 911 is 20' in front of me through tinted windows and I watched a kid intentionally spit his gum at my car hitting the front fender.

whats with these disrespectful kids?

They know they will not be held responsible for their actions. Simple as that.

You've nailed it with the word "disrespectful".

No respect for the property of others.
No respect for accepted rules of behavior.

It's a learned thing. Starts with their parents (or primary care-giver and role model, whomever that might be)

Best of luck
Les

I was pretty pissed, I told him he needs to learn some respect and I never wanted to see him in our parking lot again. He was pretty stunned and so was his gf, neither said a word. He tried to cover his mouth when he spit the gum so I think he was surprised he got caught. His little swagger wasn't the same leaving the parking lot as it was coming in.

Would have been tough for me to not take him home and if he had a dad to B slap that bastage for doing such a poor job raising his kid. I've gotten in "dad's" face a couple of times before , never hit anyone (not really my style but talk is cheap) but the results were great both times, never a problem with the punks on my street again.

What I really don't understand is that people would get all bent out of shape if you shook him around a little bit. I bet that would get through his thick head.

In some areas down here, that only means you will get key sometime later. Disrespectful, accountable, and the rest.

When I was a kid doing no good, I used to get shot at with buckshot. No kidding. See if that goes down these days.

You do realize that you diminished his sense of self esteem, and stifled his creativity, don't you?

Years ago I saw something pretty cool. A guy was waiting in the front of the line at a cross walk waiting for the light to change. Two teenagers about 15 were walking across in the crosswalk really taking their time. The light changed and they were in front of this guy's car. He gave them a short toot with his horn. The larger of the two stopped in front of his car, stood there & gave him the finger and continued on to the corner. On that corner was a gas station and the guy in the car turned right, circled into the lot of the gas station, got out of his car and ran up to the kid & decked him. Then he ran back to his car & left in a hurry. I'm sure the kid thought he might just get yelled at & got a great big surprise. One of the best things I've seen.

Exactly!

And if he's old enough to have a GF he's old enough to be punched in the face

what can you do?

i saw some kids walking down the street years ago eating a pizza. when they were done they just dropped the pizza box in the middle of the road.
i started to say something but what power do i have. they know i wont hit them and i know there parents will likely just turn it around on me, so what can you do? nothing, except raise my kids better than that, which i have done.

leaving work last night I realized I left my windows rolled down, now I know he was aiming for my interior which only irritated me more. That was a mistake on my behalf, I usually just crack the windows in the warm weather.

And you guys are likely right, the kid didn't learn anything and he may even come back for more. I guess that's what cameras and insurance are for.......

I would put my red swingline stapler on full auto and put at least 3/4 to a full clip into his forehead before he even knew what hit him.........
