"Missing" on ABC tonight at 8:00 PM

It premieres tonight, staring Ashley Judd, as an ex-CIA field operative whose teenage son gets kidnapped. She travels all over Europe destroying everything and everyone in her path to get him back. I posted on this last summer in the thread "I'm in Prague".

If you see it, let me know what you think, 10 episodes, we shot it all over Europe; Prague, Croatia, Istanbul.

Have it scheduled to record... will let you know what we think.

Question about another show that we briefly talked about over dinner while you were in Dallas reviewing locations...

Wife wanted to watch GCB since it was filmed in Dallas. Well we watched the first episode and noticed that many locations were filmed blocks from our house in East Dallas. Fast forward a week and the houses and church they had shown (and we recognized) were replaced by SoCal versions.

Why did they bother filming the pilot in Dallas if they were going to film the series in LA?

We shot the pilot of GCB in the Dallas area, but the community we wanted to film in, I forget the name, was such a PIA in terms of permits, hours of filming, etc. we said forget it.

It's about money, usually. Shoot the pilot out of state to take advantage of tax incentives, if it gets picked up, bring it to LA. Sometimes actors commit to an out of state pilot as long as they shoot in LA if it goes to series. The pilot for House M.D. shot in Vancouver, X-Files shot in Vancouver and moved to LA when Dave Duchovney married Tia Leone. MacGyver shot in LA and moved to Vancouver when Cannel moved his productions up there (except for Hunter, Fred Dryer wouldn't leave LA).

She looks good. Since we wrapped a few months ago, I think she's gained 10 lbs.

So is the show just 10 episodes, or cliff hanger until next season if it gets renewed?

It has closure on the 10th episode, but leaves the door open for another season.

Female Jason Bourne, actually pretty good so far.

Was she shot when she fell off the bridge?

Not a bad story line so far.....filmed too dark...couldn't make out what was happening in all the night scenes.

Will watch again because I've developed my own story line and want to see how close I am to what the writers came up with.

Ashely...I've always considered her to be a classic beauty.

The movies she made with Morgan Freeman were pretty good thrillers.

Thanks for the head's up Hugh....think I missed it tonight but will try and catch it when it's on again....

Why waste your time watching it on t.v?
Don't you know you could visit a neighbor and she lives and is doing the exact same thing????

T.V-if we're talking worldly or country- wise, ozoned out to the world , embarreses me .

very strong visuals. ....camera work, editing, subject. Love the location choices.

on the story, I always loath the character inconsistencies. That is, she's supposed to be some bad-ass former spook. Yet, when confronted with a baddie in her sons flat, she takes him down and peppers him with the Q "where's my son!? ...where's my son!?" --Son? I mean really, she --the super-stealth ex-spook-- is going to both assume that the baddie KNOWS who the hell she is, and/or --the more inconsistent part-- she will so quickly give away information (of her relation to the missing Micheal) to a baddie? Of course, her character does this again on the train. :-/ I mean, I -get- that she is supposed to be both a distraught mother AND a bad-ass ex-spy, but have a hard time with mixing of the kick-ass, take-down spy mode with the emotional soccer-mom. ...esp during an ass-kicking session.

This isn't going to be another one of those Lost 'writing' things again, is it? If so, you may need more pretty people and pretty places. The long-tease alone is pretty played out. IMO.

The commercials were better.

I did make an effort to watch it, certainly better than "Body of Proof" (of the latest hairstyle and dress invoices) but if it goes to another series I will be amazed.
