Anyone know anything about home/business alarm systems?
Am looking for some help with a home alarm system.
Have an Ademco Vista system that has worked fine for years, but was thinking of upgrading some of the sensors and adding more. Also just picked up a really nice Ademco "Rapid eye" video system complete with some indoor and outdoor camera's and so on. Have found manuals and data sheets and such but talking or emailing with someone who has been there is always faster and better. Anyone have any "hands on" time with this stuff? TIA, Joe A

Thats a good start but for someone who travels and is away from the home for 5-6 days at a time, having a pup like that would result in chaos upon my return!

Joe,
Have you added any thermal detection sensors? I like cameras for recorded dated, but a thermal detection sensor is a nice add-on to alert you.

Stephanie,
Not yet. Right now have simple motion detectors and switches on the two main doors, but want to incorporate some more advanced things like what you mentioned in an upgraded system. Joe
