I was a single DAD with two young sons when the ONLY car that I owned was my '67 fastback mustang. Yes babyseats do fit! for a short time I ran dual babyseats in the back seat.

funny - the sad truth is that at a certain age car guys do indeed ask if the baby seat will fit
telling the mother that the baby seat can go on the luggage rack is... um... sometimes unwise |

The "too cold in the winter"was familiar. I took a friends mom for a ride in the Cobra during Thanksgiving, in the evening, while it was snowing. The bad part was I couldn't get on it in any gear for her. A car seat does fit in one by the way.
