Drive a Camry for free?

I came across this Craigslist ad -

Quote:
Our agency is presently recruting for 14 drivers for our modern set of 2011 Toyota Camry Hybrids.

Your duties involve driving the auto at least 6-8 hrs total each week or parking the auto in a spot that will probably bring in a great deal of sights.

We will be paying a flat rate of $300 each and every month and you will "lease" the automobile 100 % free.

Make sure you get back to us having a brief explanation of why you should be considered for this job.
I know there is a catch......but what is it??

Send a message via AIM to stomachmonkey
You'll pay the "lease" up front and they will "reimburse" you.

Thinking more about this. "Agency" makes me think maybe its advertising something other than the car.

Or maybe it will look like this.

It is possible that some people may get hooked on the Camry and want to buy it or lease it when it is required to be given back. Reminds me that wayback , when radios first came out, they were handed out for nothing(I think in Canada) to the recipients and when the "sellers" came to get them back, the new "owners" would not hand them over. They consequently had to buy them. The product sold itself.

It is possible. We bought a 2002 Camry when it was new. Meanwhile ten years later, not willing to part with it. Astoundingly boring, astoundingly reliable although I admit we have only done 27K miles. Still not willing to part with it as it is worth next to nothing in $$terms. At this rate it will outlive my wife and I. Can u say that about a VW?

This makes me think the car is a billboard.
This exactly.

A friend of mine drives a Smart4Two decked out like a mobile billboard, she's not allowed to park off-street or in a parking building, it has to have exposure. They GPS track it to ensure she obeys and they re-sticker it every 3-4 months with a different brand.

She also has to make it available for trade-days etc once per quarter, four days per year.

I'm guessing there is some sort of up-front fee. Write them and find out.

Driving a Smart car is punishment, not a privilege. Perhaps if you were poor, then it is transportation - but barely. Give me a Toyota Echo even. That is all I say for the Smart car because it is too small compared to the average car. I confess that I have not driven it but to some it may be fuel economy heaven. Size matters, especially in a n accident. Also I would hazard a guess that a Smart car is pricey to maintain. I have hijacked this thread into obscurity. Where was I - ah Camry sigh sigh

There a jeep dealer in town who will give you free maintenance and service if you allow them to put a advertising skin on your car.

Let me help you hijack this silly thread I started. We can expand it to "Cars you would have to pay me to drive"
I work with a guy that drives a Smart Car. He weighs 350+ lbs. He wife is not much lighter. The best line to describe the absurdity of this was "if one of them farts, there will not be enough good air for them to survive."
